Review of Tessy and Tab Early Reading Program

My boys love getting mail. Unfortunately, the only time they get anything addressed to them is during birthday and Christmas season. We recently participated in a new program that combines early reading learning and the excitement of getting mail addressed to my kids twice a month! It is called the Tessy & Tab Reading Club, and it really has changed the way my kids see reading.

Based on the six skills for early literacy, the Tessy & Tab Reading Club is the first kids magazine subscription that promotes early independent reading for preschool children. The sturdy magazine (think really thin board book) has an easy to read large print story, brightly-colored illustrations, visual learning pages featuring a letter and a number, a "find these things" page, and a coloring picture! The program is perfect for any child ages 2-6 and makes a great gift.

My boys scream when they find out that they have received their "mail!" They open their magazines (sent in a sturdy personalized envelope) and sit in the easy chair to read next to one another. They like to pull out their "mail" often during the week and reread the magazines over and over.

Subscribing parents will also receive a comprehensive guide to building early reading skills at every age, useful tips with each issue and craft ideas & printable literacy activity sheets to do with your child. The parent resources are a perfect compliment to the program, and can be integrated into a summer school, preschool, or homeschool learning curriculum.

As an added bonus feature, there is also an online section for kids that features games, printables, and coloring fun.

We really loved this program, and we look forward to receiving the rest of our subscription over the next few months!

YOU CAN WIN! One lucky reader will win a 6-issue subscription to the Tessy & Tab Reading Club! All you have to do is comment on this post and tell us one of the items included with the Kindergarten Countdown Toolkit! You have until September 2nd to enter. (Those of you with blogs can earn an extra 5 entries by linking to this post and Tessy & Tab on your blog.) Good Luck!

NOTE: As always, Lille Punkin' values your privacy. We will never share your email or personal information with anyone else! Any personal information we receive will be used strictly for contacting the winner of our sweepstakes!

CONGRATULATIONS to Dawn! She is the winner and has been contacted! Thanks to all who participated.

Forgot to post that not only would she love this, but the magazine would be her favorite part. I think I'd find the Kindergarten checklist most useful.

I'm working with a special needs pre-schooler and his toddler sister. The Five Tessy & Tab Reading Club Magazines look like they would be perfect for working toward some of the behavior goals we've established for the little guy!
