I love taking pictures of my kids on the first day of school the most. They look so sweet and you really can't believe how fast they grow.
My favourite occasion to take photos is family vacation. We are usually some place new, people are relaxed and having fun (usually!), and the kids are more willing to pose.

Every other summer the family road trips from Texas to Ottawa, Canada for a two week family reunion (his family)/general sightseeing tour (a few stops to see my multi-state family/friends)
We pick different routes or venues to make the trip more interesting. It's a great opportunity to snap shots all over the country and of missed family and friends.

I like taking pictures of everyday things...things that we all take for granted. When I look back to photos of when I was a kid, I am amazed by what we DON'T have photos of. I am trying to make up for that with my son. I am always snapping pictures of him eating his favorite foods or building with Lego.
