Review of grobag® egg™

It's hot outside, and probably a little warm inside. And while my tots are getting old enough to complain when it's too hot for comfort, my youngest is still far away from being able to let me know when he's uncomfortable. I love my child far too much to rely solely on the little sweat buds that form on the bridge of his cute button nose as my cue to kick the A/C up a notch -- so I was tickled to try out the grobag® egg™ from Keen Distribution!

This totally accurate digital thermometer is better than anything that hangs on your wall and attaches to your thermostat. It has design in mind with its cool, modern egg shape that matches any decor. Because it plugs into any standard outlet, you can take it wherever you need to keep an eye on the temp -- and the easy display lets you know exactly the temperature in the surrounding area. Too far away to catch the digital read out? You can see at a glance if its too cold, just right, or a bit on the stuffy side by the LED color glow coming from the egg! (Tip: This handy gizmo can double as a gentle night-light in any nursery or kid room, as well.)

The on-off button is easy to manage, and lets you decide when you really need it. I also got a kick out of the included guide that tells you the optimal dress code for the temperature (with handy reference to grobag gear that can ensure the right sleeper for the right night.)

Handy for winter, summer, and every day in-between, this is a brilliant piece of gear! My son can't sleep without his "glowing egg" turned on in his room every night, and I feel a bit better about the safety of my children in such adverse temperatures!

Check out the grobag® egg™ and the rest of the grobag® family at Keen Distribution!

Wanna win one? As part of our awesome Baby Week (and the Bloggy Giveaways Carnival), we are giving one lucky reader their very own (valued at $29.99.) Just tell us how you would use your grobag® egg™ in the comments section below. You have until Friday, August 1st at 11pm CST to get your entries in (one per person, please.) U.S. entries only at this time. Contest subject to our full rules and privacy policy.

I have seen this and think it looks awesome! Since my first baby is due in Nov and it's cold here in Iowa - this would be a wonderful addition to the nursery - I have no idea what temp to keep it around the new little one!

Oh how neat! I would love love love this. I have a three year old - who is just learning to tell me if he is cold/hot. But my one year old can't voice his opinion. And since we live in AK I am constanly worried if the house is to cold! This would be perfect.

I would love one of these. I am a warm person so I tend to let it get pretty cold in my house before I realize that it is cold and maybe my kids would enjoy thawing out a bit.

What a clever idea! I would use this to monitor the temps in the bedrooms because that part of the house seems to get a lot cooler than the main areas.

It's hot here, and I don't like the heat so I have a tendency to creep the thermostat down lower than we can really afford. I would use the little egg gizmo to save on the 'lectric bill, it being an independent thermometer. I never do trust the one on the a/c switch.

Deborah said...

I'd use it in the baby's room - sometimes it's hard to decide if a blanket is necessary.

Oh, this would be wonderful! I have a decision crisis every bedtime: I never know whether to to have the ceiling fan on or off, or put my daughter's blanket on her or leave it off . . . My husband is a night sweater, so we have to keep the temp in our room colder then the rest of the house.

To keep the electric bills from eating our lunch we are still fiddling with the home's replaced central air system, vents, and room closures for infrequently used areas, but it's touch and go with home as old as my grandparents.

This little device would be immediately put to use mapping our families air and heat usage.

Hello! I would use this Grobag Egg in my 4 month old daughters bedroom. I worry all the time that she is either too hot, or too cold, and wonder sometimes if I am being over protective. This neat little gadget will keep me sane - I will know exactly how to dress her and protect her at night by way of using this device! Thank you for this great giveaway!

I think this is a fantastic product; since you asked how we would use it, I think that it would be great to have in my baby's room. They say that bright colors and nightlights help the baby's brain grow and help in the area of creativity.

Thanks! :D
