Who's tired of the poppy, mass-produced mess that people call music today? I know that I am... and so when I had the opportunity to not only preview the new sensation that is Diane Birch but ALSO hear her perform a live, private concert at SXSW, I instantly fell in love. As beautiful to watch as she is to listen to, this young, soulful magician weaves words and melodies in a way that makes you a bit sad, but also happy to have company in this journey of life.
I'm a piano fanatic, anyway (been playing since I was young), so the passion and power that forms behind the small fingers of this young musician is a bit surprising, but nonetheless, enchanting. Give her a listen. She won't disappoint.
