Our Kids Try NutraSea!

6:00 PM

Hubby and I both take fish oil, in the form of gel capsules.  Since I want my kids to share the same benefits, but don't want them swallowing giant pills, I was happy to hear about NutraSea. This product contains essentially the same healthy oils you find in some of the adult pills, but in a kid-safe dose.  Plus, it's flavored to help them take it from a spoon.

The pros of this product are many.  The flavoring actually helps the oil go down.  Also, it dispenses very easily from the bottle (it's sort of like an olive oil bottle.)  I feel good knowing my kids are getting an easily-digestible form of Omega-3's -- which has been linked to health benefits in recent studies.

The cons are pretty obvious.  It's oil.  Kids may not like the consistency, so I suggest having them take it with meals.  (One kid tried it on an empty tummy and then complained about how it felt later.)

Whether you give the NutraSea for kids a try (designed for ages 2-13) or the Adult form (which is supplemented with Vitamin D), you'll find that one bottle lasts quite a while.  Please note:  If anyone in your family has fish allergies you should consult your doctor before using NutraSea.
