Review of Marmaduke on DVD9:06 PM
It just came out, and we've already watched it twice!! This playful romp features Marmaduke the clumsy and lovable dog, along with a cast of several other comical canines (and one cat.) The flick is centered around the importance of family, fun, and forgiveness -- my three favorite movie topics!
As Marmaduke's people family moves out to California for a new job, Marmaduke has a hard time fitting in. It's a bit reminscent of high school, actually, as the popular dogs and the "Mutts" battle for acceptance and the paw of the most beautiful female in the dog park (played by Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas.) You can almost imagine Owen Wilson as Marmaduke -- he really makes the role entertaining! Also in the cast: George Lopez and Keifer Sutherland. This is a kids' movie that the adults can really relate too!
With very little to frown upon, it's a light-hearted look at dogs and how families can struggle with prioritizing the important things in life. As always, all turns out OK in the end, and with a little more than a dog "gas" reference in the final scene, it's a fun PG time for the entire family (even the youngest film buffs!)
