Can you Rent Homeschool Books?

Most homeschool families know how expensive books can be.  Not only are the books costly, they take up a lot of room in your library.  (We know; with 5 kids in the house, we have an entire wall dedicated to the books they will all need to complete over 12 grades!)

If your budget is stretched, however, and you don't have the space to keep books from one kid to the next, you could always try renting.  Services like CampusBookRentals.com allow you to pay a fee to borrow a book for a specified time, and shipping is free both ways!  When you're done, just ship it back.  No storage, no worries.

And if you follow Operation Smile (a worthy cause, in my opinion), a donation will be made for every textbook rented.  This goes for books for homeschool and college!  When you save money on books, you help to pay for a life-changing surgery for a child who needs one.

With 40-90% off bookstore pricing, it's something every frugal fam should look into.  (Check out this book on nutrition, for example.  It's list price is over $165, but you can rent it for the summer for under $27!)  If you have summer school on your priority list, don't wait to see what books might be available.  Get a head start now!
