3 Hot Holiday Looks You Can Afford this Season

Sampling of the beauty swag we received at the Walmart Holiday Trip!
Ta-da! Smokey bright eyes.... (photo taken on Bentonville trip)
If you know me, you know that I am very basic with my makeup. In fact, most of the time, I go around the house with barely any foundation and nothing else...  Like today, I'll show you what I look like when I get up (warning: tired mom photo):

Mama with no makeup...
Thanks to a few tips I learned when I last traveled with the Walmart Moms to Bentonville, however, I was able to freshen up my look for a holiday night out with a handful of products you can find at your local Walmart and just 12 minutes:

Mama with a holiday look!
So, how did I do it?  I started with 3 looks:

1. The Blue Smoky Eye:  I used COVERGIRL SmokyShadow Blast lid color, Maybelline Colossal Cat Eye Mascara, and Maybelline Eye Studio Master Precise Ink Pen Liner.  The directions involved covering my eyelid with the light end of the stick, then using the dark end along the bottom of the lid and the crease.  Then, I used the liner the carefully line the top lid (you are supposed to add to the bottom, but my eyes can't handle this.)  Finally, a bit of Cat Eye mascara really made my eyes pop!

Here I am below, receiving this look on the Bentonville trip. (Note that she was a professional, and did a great job!)

2.  The High Ponytail.  This was an awesome way to add a little class to my boring low ponytail.  Simply use Pantene Pro-V Stylers Gel to make hair slick and smooth.  Then, put hair up in a shiny or sparkly holiday elastic!

3.  Bold Lips.  I hate wearing red lipstick, and some of the bold looks ask for it.  I was able to find a dark pink that works for this look, however, and it really wore well!  I recommend the COVERGIRL Blast Flipstick (which has a bold and mild color on each stick) or the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Balm Stain (it stays on for hours!)

All of these items are available at Walmart and Walmart.com for budget-friendly prices!  (All products also remove easily with makeup remover, too!)  You can find a completely listing, along with even more beauty tips any mom can do, in our Holiday issue of Beauty Scoop -- available online!  Tell us, what is your favorite holiday look of the three?
