Review of Arthur Christmas on DVD

My family rarely gets the chance to go to the movie theater these days; with the family of seven, is not only rather expensive -- it is quite possible to get everybody to sit still.  The last movie we saw together as a family was Arthur Christmas.  We loved it!

When the film was released on DVD, Blu-ray, and Blu-ray 3-D earlier this month, we were one of the first families to see it.  We loved reliving all of our favorite moments of this very family-friendly flick!

For those of you who haven't seen it, Arthur is an underdog character who also happens to be the son of Santa.  While he never anticipates inheriting the role from his dad, his heart is better suited for it then his overachieving brother's.  Through a wild escapade with his grandpa, some worn-out reindeer, and a comical gift wrapping elf, Arthur not only saves Christmas for one forgotten child, he earns his way into the legacy of Santa Claus.  The film is truly ridiculous by way of jokes and physical comedy, and the imagination of the film is one of the reasons why my kids laugh so hysterically when they are viewing it.

This movie is rated PG, mostly for a few mildly rude jokes ( and I do mean "mild".)  The film really puts family and keeping your word in perspective with everything else that goes on in our lives, not to mention the busyness that is the holiday.  The three-disc pack contains every format needed for a truly gripping viewing experience.  For those of you who don't have Blu-ray, however, the traditional DVD format is available as well.

Get into the spirit of the holidays with Arthur Christmas.  It is now officially one of our favorite holiday movies, and ( like most holiday movies in our house) it will probably be watched by the kids year-round.
