Father's Day Gift Buying for Wants and Needs!

My husband is such a good father.  He has always been active in our daily activities with the kids, even being more involved in some of the care taking activities than I am (like cutting the kids' hair or cooking meals).

Father's Day is coming up soon!  This year, we have big plans to take a trip to the middle part of Nebraska for the annual festival in my hubby's hometown.  He reminded me just weeks ago, that it would be nice to have something new, comfy, and casual to wear as we met with old friends and relatives, so I checked the men's clothing section the last time I was in Walmart and found a few neat pieces to add to his wardrobe.

I found the exact shirt pictured above;  the Men's striped Faded Glory Pique Polo Shirts are priced between $8.00 - 8.97 can be be purchased in-store or online.   The quality of these is excellent, and they are super soft!  They appear a bit big hanging on the rack, but my husband said they are true to size.  I also bought one in solid red so that he would have something to wear this fall for the Husker football games!

With these shirts priced so reasonably, I could pick up a few for the same price as a similar polo at department stores.  He was thrilled to have some care-free pieces to hang in the closet.

I also bought something for him that was also for me:  a wide-brimmed sunhat.  We had looked at some in the past few months, but they are either very nerdy looking or they make him sweat.  I found this wide-brimmed hat in olive at my local Walmart.  It has an Aussie-inspired look and two mesh vents in the top to allow him to breath a bit when working outside in the hot sun.  Also, since skin cancer is a  huge concern of mine, I was happy to see that it also had a large neck flap and the brim was wide enough to keep his ears from getting burned, as well.

This particular hat came in one size and 2 colors; you can check with your local store to see if they carry it.  At under $11 for the hat, it's a wise investment that he can wear while in the garden, fishing with the kids, or outside working on cars.

If your husband is as special to you as mine is to me, it's probably a good idea to get him something he wants as well as something he needs.  This year's gifts are the perfect way to say "I listen and I'll buy something you've asked for, but here is something you wouldn't buy yourself!"

What will you gift the special dad in your life this year?
