Back to School Snack Review: Snikiddy4:47 PM
You wouldn't believe me if I told you how many snack products we get asked to try here on the blog. We turn down so many that aren't a good fit, but -- when something catches our eye -- we give it a good taste test to pass on to our readers. Today, I am pleased to tell you about a super crunchy and delicious brand of snacks called Snikiddy.
We sampled a few of the small single-serve bags, as well as larger bags of this product line. All were approved by the kiddos, and I enjoyed munching on them, as well. Here are the highlights:
The All Natural Baked Fries
Oh my goodness these are good. Remember "Andy Capp" fries from the drug store? These are just as tasty, but much more puffy and feel like they are fried (but they are baked.) The Bold Buffalo was our favorite; they weren't too spicy, but had a Louisiana hot sauce flavor that appealed to the whole family. These leave a little residue on the fingers, like a less natural snack food -- but they have half the fat of potato chips and 35 percent less fat than veggies sticks and straws. These also come in Cheddar Cheese, Sea Salt, Barbeque, Original Seasoning, Classic Ketchup, and Hot & Spicy.
Shown on the left in the photo above, these look and taste like yummy junk food. They also boast
50 percent less fat than regular potato chips and 35 percent less fat than regular veggie sticks and straws, and come in super cheesy flavors like Grilled Cheese and Mac n’ Cheese. My husband (who doesn't care much for cheese ) didn't like them. "They taste too much like cheese!" he said. Mission accomplished? We scarfed these in minutes....
All Snikiddy snacks are made with non-GMO ingredients, are certified gluten, wheat free and do not contain any artificial colors, preservatives, high fructose corn syrup, trans fats, hydrogenated oils or MSG. They are available in little lunch-boxed sized bags for easy school meal packing. Find out more info at the Snikiddy website!
