Stride Rite Shoes for a Hero's Halloween!

“I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Stride Rite. I received products to facilitate my review and thank me for my participation.”

Halloween is a favorite holiday for my boys, because they love dressing up and going trick-or-treating.  They have always been able to get a new costume for each year (with the exception of the infants and toddlers, who wear hand-me-downs).  Part of looking for a new costume involves checking for safety features, including masks or hats that allow them to see clearly, capes and jumpsuits that aren't a trip hazard, and decorations that act as a light or reflective device.

Most costumes in stores today fit these requirements, but there is one additional way to take safety a step further: light-up shoes!

My boys happened to each have a pair of tennis shoes that lit-up when you stepped down, and it helped them to be seen when crossing the street, as well as helped me keep tabs on the little ones that may like to run or get just a bit out of arm's length.

Stride Rite shoes are a brand that have offered very fun character designs on their light-up shoes, and this year is no exception.  They have a Captain America licensed pair that my son was able to try on, and they went perfectly with his new Captain America Halloween costume!

Not only do they feature very bright stars on the top that light up with each step, they are easy to put on and take off -- something this very busy mom of 6 appreciates!

Just check out how proud he is of his new kicks..

Stride Rite also offers light-up designs featuring Spider-Man, Star Wars, Disney Princess and Minnie Mouse, and breadth of brands including Stride Rite, Sperry Top-Sider, Keds, Saucony and Jessica Simpson.  Since they are a good-quality shoe, they can be worn every day, even after the holiday is over.  Plus, these shoes always last my kids for a very long time (even making it to the chance to be "handed-down").  Would you consider a light-up sneaker to complete your child's costume?
