New Year's Eve Party Snack: Chocolate & Toffee Dipped Potato Chips

I'm a big fan of crunchy, salty potato chips. Even though I try to steer clear of them throughout the normal week, there's nothing stopping me from enjoying them during parties and the holidays.  I find that putting out a few bowls of different chips during a New Year's Eve party is a sure-fire way to keep the snacks in full force, while the more "fancy" eats are being created and replenished.  This recipe for a fancy chip, however, can offer guests something very special with little prep work.  It also doubles as a dessert!

To make these simple snacks, you'll need:

  • One bag Kettle-cooked Chips ( I used Lay's, but I usually buy whatever is on sale)
  • Chocolate-flavored Almond Bark Squares
  • Bag of Toffee Chips
  • Mini Slow Cooker (Crock-Pot Little Dipper works)
To begin, fill the mini slow cooker with the almond bark; squares should be broken apart.  If your cooker has a temperature setting, high works just fine.

After the squares have melted (you may need to stir them to get them creamy), it's time for dipping!

Dip the edge of each whole chip (skip dipping the "pieces") in the chocolate.  Be sure to shake it to get off any excess.  Then, sprinkle a few of the toffee chips onto the melted chocolate.

Lay them out on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper until the chocolate has hardened.

Serve the same day for optimal freshness!

  1. Its like you read my mind! You seem to know so much about this, like
you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you can do with a
few pics to drive the message home a little bit, but other than that, this is excellent blog.
A great read. I'll certainly be back.
