My life can get so overwhelming at times. Even now, I'm working from my messy desk, trying to keep my toddler from getting into my computer power strip, and trying to remember that dinner will burn if I don't get there in time. I don't even want to think about the dishes. I know that laundry needs done. And if that shower doesn't get cleaned soon, the new surface will get soap scummy.
Moms have so much to worry about, and this is with me being healthy. I couldn't even imagine how tough life would be for me if I had cancer. As I see friends go through cancer treatments with kids at home and a household to manage, I feel helpless that I can't do more. I'm not close enough to clean their homes, and -- even if I could -- I struggle to keep myself afloat.
P&G gets what it's like to struggle through the day-to-day business of being a mom. And they totally get what it takes to get through the day-to-day with cancer. That's why I'm completely in love with their newest initiative to help cancer sufferers with their day-to-day struggles by partnering with Walmart and the nonprofit Cleaning for a Reason.
Cleaning for a Reason was recently named by Reader's Digest as one of the 25 Best Things to Happen In America. Why? Because it is an awesome nonprofit that works to put professional housecleaners into the homes of women with cancer all throughout the U.S. and Canada. They work with over 1,000 cleaning services!
You can find pink Swiffers in your Walmart store which have been designed to help bring awareness to this great charity! In addition, during the month of October, women who are struggling against cancer and have their home cleaned by Cleaning for a Reason will receive a special "care package" from Swiffer and Walmart, like the one below:
The care package contains:
