If you have a family as large as mine, you will have cupboards and drawers full of cooking gear. You also likely have a few favorites that you use time and time again. The products, now available at Walmart, aren't just high-quality, they are pretty stylish, as well. I especially love the sayings and designs imprinted on the surfaces. There will be no mistaking these for ordinary pots and pans!
The 10-piece cookware set heats evenly and quickly, so food doesn't burn, and the non-stick finish makes clean-up a breeze. I adored the knife, which is just a sampling of what you can find in Guy Fieri's 12-piece cutlery set. With a comfy handle, I can chop, slice, and dice for a long time with no discomfort. They are balanced so that you can cut all kinds of things without trouble -- even if you're not especially proficient in the kitchen. (This set comes with an eight-inch chef knife, eight-inch slicer knife, 5.5-inch serrated utility knife, 4.5-inch fine utility knife, 3.5-inch paring knife, kitchen shears, sharpener, four steak knives and wood storage block. )
I recently put this gear to the test in an effort to recreate Guy's signature dish: Penne with Cajun Hot Links and Chipotle Shrimp. Our challenge was to put our own spin on it, which we did -- as a kid-friendly version!
Our recipe switched out some of the spicier parts of the original, and added garlic. We also halved the cream -- it was loved by the kids! (See the recipe with instructions at the bottom of this post.)

Now, for our recipe for Kid-Friendly Creamy BBQ Penne with Sausage and Shrimp:
Ingredients:
- 1/4 teaspoon olive oil
- 1 clove garlic, diced
- 1 Polish Sausage Link, cut into "coins"
- 15 large raw shrimp, peeled
- 1 cup whipping cream
- 1/3 cup BBQ sauce
- 1/8 cup lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon mustard
- 2 cups cooked penne pasta, drained
- 1/2 cup fresh Parmesan cheese
- 1 tomato, chopped
- 1 green onion, diced
Begin by heating the oil in a skillet on high. Add the garlic, sausage, and shrimp. Cook until the shrimp are pink, stirring well to prevent overcooking.
Turn down the heat to medium and add the salt, pepper, cooked pasta, whipping cream, BBQ sauce, lemon juice, mustard, and Parmesan. Stir until blended well and creamy. Serve immediately topped with the tomatoes and green onion. Add extra Parmesan, if you like!
