Review of Techno Gears Marble Mania Set

1:32 AM

My boys love building things, so we were happy to try out the Techno Gears Velocity 2.0 Marble Mania set from The Learning Journey.  This roller coaster takes hours to build, and comes with instructions to give kids and parents a step-by-step approach to this massive build.  Once together, it features two hand cranked marble lifters that put the marbles in place to speed through the twists and turns of the contraption.  that allow children to send marbles into the twisting and turning tracks at a high velocity.

The 300 or more pieces don't stay together as well as we would like, so be careful to have an adult move the set from room to room, or set it up where it can't be bothered.  My boys, after awhile, weren't able to keep putting it back together on their own, so they started making their own creations from it.  They still really enjoy this set, even if it isn't used in the original design as intended.

If you have imaginative kids, they'll likely not want to put it together in the very specific way instructed in the booklet.  It's a great time for parents and kids -- especially if done together.  There are two button cell batteries included, and it's intended for ages 8+ years.
