DIY Guide to Removing Skin Tags Yourself

Skin tags. They are gross. And to be honest, they aren't something people like to talk about. But there is a safe method of removing skin tags yourself. I know, because I've tried it myself!

Here's what you need to know about removing skin tags yourself.

What is a Skin Tag?

A skin tag is a flap of loose skin that can grow anywhere on your body. They tend to form places where the skin rubs again clothing or accessories. They can also be found in the armpits, on eyelids, or the neck. It's a benign growth that really looks like skin, but it's not something that can just be taken off.

How to Remove a Skin Tag

I used to work in a dermatology clinic, and skin tags were a common reason for a visit. In a clinical setting, they would generally snip or shave the tag off. This led to a little bleeding and the need for a bandage or antibacterial ointment. Many people, however, do not have the time or money to visit a doctor for every little skin tag -- especially if they have several or they tend to come back.

Safely Removing Skin Tags Yourself

Many people don't know that you can remove skin tags yourself. If you're certain it's a skin tag (and not another skin disorder that needs looked at), there is a product I've used that is pain-free and simple to use. It's called H-Skin Tags, and it works really well at removing skin tags yourself. Simply use the product as directed, and in about 4 days to a week or so, your skin tag will simply dry up and flake off. There is no blood, oozing, or icky healing process to deal with.

Natural Skin Tags Treatment. The Original Topical Homeopathic Remedy For Skin Tags
Since the product is made with essentials oils, you'll want to check the ingredients (shown below) for any thing you may have a reaction to. I have very sensitive skin, and I had no issues using this on a small skin tag on my thigh. It's so annoying having to worry about accidentally shaving or breaking a skin tag; this was a very drama-free way to get rid of it once and for all.

The product is a small bottle, but just a drop will do for each application. You can expect a full bottle to last a good long time. And you can use these on eye skin tags, just be sure you follow the recommendations for keeping the oil at least 5mm from your eye opening. This product is homeopathic, FDA-listed, and removes tags without scarring.

Is Removing Skin Tags Yourself a Good Idea?

Would you give a home remedy a try? I would look at removing skin tags yourself, if you're certain that it what they are -- and you don't have other painful or itchy skin symptoms. (Note: I am not a doctor and this is not to be taken as medical advice.  If you have concerns or questions, please see a licensed physician.)
