Experience the Song and Dance of Newsies with Your Family!

1:42 PM

Do you love musicals? I do! And I finally found one that my boys are super excited about!

Disney has taken the magic of the hit musical and packaged it all nicely in a home viewing version that all families will love. We were so blessed to receive a Newsies viewing kit to share the amazing story with my boys. They love history, so this based-on-a-true story that takes place during an interesting time in our country was something I was sure they would get into.

My sons all loved to dance when they were younger, so seeing the kids in this show bring their talent to the home viewing screen was something I knew they would adore. There's just so much to keep them engaged. Even my 3-year-old was moving along!

Here's more about the film:

Set in New York City at the turn of the century and based on a true story, Disney's Newsies is the rousing tale of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy and leader of a ragged band of teenaged “newsies,” who dreams only of a better life far from the hardship of the streets. Captured live on stage at The Hollywood Pantages Theatre in California, and following its record-breaking, in-cinema premiere for Fathom Events this not-to-be-missed high energy event features Jeremy Jordan, reprising the Tony nominated role he created as “Jack Kelly.” Jordan is joined by original Broadway cast members Kara Lindsay as “Katherine,” Ben Fankhauser as “Davey” and Andrew Keenan-Bolger as “Crutchie,” and North American Tour stars Steve Blanchard as “Joseph Pulitzer,” Aisha de Haas as “Medda Larkin,” and Ethan Steiner as “Les” along with members of both the Broadway and North American Tour ensembles, filling the stage with more “newsies” and more dancing than ever before.

You can snag this title for your home viewing collection now. I think it's a great way to unwind with the family and have a little fun. With all the heavy things going on the world right now, it's great to remind kids that a song and a dance have the power to change hearts and bring hope to the world.

Seize the Day!
