Summer is almost here, and I'm so excited to spend time with my closest and dearest friends enjoying the outdoors and celebrating the year so far! One of my favorite ways to toast to the friendships I have treasured so much over the years is with good food and ice cold beer.

Have you tried a Corona Light lately? This is one of my favorite beers, and at only 99 calories per serving, I can enjoy it with a four-course meal and not feel bad at all! The taste is a light a sparkling lager that's slightly citrusy and perfect with fish, mango salsas, chimchurri sauces, and other tangy dishes. If you like a distinct hop flavor that is smooth and pleasing to all of your guests, Corona is the best choice!

My store now carries the summer packs of the Corona Light bottles.
These are my favorite to keep in the fridge for special occasions or when friends just drop by. I always want to be a good hostess, so I keep a bowl of lime slivers in the fridge, too. They pair perfectly with the crispness of the Corona Light cerveza.

Wanna Save? Use this Checkout 51 offer to save $3.00 on chips or pretzels when you purchase one 12-pack or larger of Corona Extra or Corona Light and $3.01 in chips or pretzels. (This offer is valid only in the following states: AK, AZ, CA, CO, DC, DE, FL, GA, IA, ID, IL, KS, MD, MI, MS, MT, ND, NE, NH, NM, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, RI, SD, TN, VA, VT, WA, WI, WY) Just search under the "Beer, Wine & Spirits" section for the offer, which is valid at any retailer within the valid states until 8/30/17.

Serving Corona Light has to be special . I set out to take some old, plain beer buckets and turn them into something with a bit more personality! For this project, I used:
  • 2 Galvanized steel handled buckets (one large, one small)
  • Masking tape
  • Acrylic paint (lime, orange, and white)
  • Stencils
  • Glue dots
  • String of outdoor-rated, water-resistant decorative lights

Start by prepping the large galvanized bucket with masking tape. I marked off where I wanted the paint to go, to ensure crisp lines of paint. I wanted one white and one orange as modest accents.

When the paint has had time to set, but before it dries completely to the touch, remove the tape to show the lines. (If you pull the tape off after it has dried, you may remove some of the paint.) Use a cotton swap to clean up any edges or paint smudges.

For the smaller bucket, we wanted to paint "LIME", since this was where we would put our cut limes. Tape on the stencils (or use stencils with a sticky back) and blot on the lime green paint. It took two layers to do this, with plenty of time to dry between.

Now, it's time to string the lights! I found an adorable lime green "bauble" look light kit and decided to hang it from my beer bucket with glue dots. If you aren't familiar with these, they are a great replacement for a glue gun, but you will need to press your light string firmly into each dot and use plenty to hold.

Now that my buckets are finished, it's time to set up for guests!
I used the chips that I saved $3 on with the Checkout 51 offer, served up some salsa, and got the beers and limes in the ice. I was ready for some summer celebrating!

I love these ice buckets. They make great serving buckets for all of my parties and get-togethers, BBQ's, and birthdays! The lime and beer stay cold until ready to drink. They keep the water from getting all over and are durable, too!

Would you make these? How would you personalize them to make them your own?
