Even before those nagging hairs gave me a reason to color, I always enjoyed giving my look a lift with a new shade for my dull tresses. While the process of coloring is basically the same across the board, I found an extra special ingredient in the Garnier Nutrisse Nourishing Color Creme that gave it top billing in my beauty routine!
Simple to mix and apply, the creme didn't drip nearly as much as some others that I've tried. What I really liked, however, was that it felt so gentle on my scalp! There wasn't the tingly, burning sensation I was used to in home colorants -- in fact, it was a bit refreshing! Perhaps it was the extra little packet of natural fruit oils that I got to add to the color or maybe it was the combination of grape seed and avocado oils that gave me such a healthy shine. After rinsing, I was really impressed with the coverage and the glow!
Their website claims that Garnier is great:

• If you want a color creme that spreads easily, wont drip and smells great
• If you want a natural, healthy-looking color that’s silky soft
I would have to agree! My husband liked how natural the Medium Golden Brown "Chestnut 53" color looked on me. I'm now officially ready to go to BlogHer!!!

Review of Tracfone Wireless Phones and Service

We gave up traditional cell phone plans long ago. With some months totaling over 2,000 anytime minutes, and other months totaling zero, it was a crap shoot as to how much we would pay in overages. (And it just wasn't worth it for the months we didn't use service.)
Prepaid seemed the way to go, and while per minute, it wasn't as reasonable as a 2-year contracted plan, it kept us within our budget and talking when we needed it. Who did we finally go with? Tracfone, of course. The price was right, the service on par with other providers, and if we lost a phone it was no big deal to replace it (for usually less than $15!)
If you don't care about having an infinite number of calls, 24/7 web access, and all the jiggiest (lame, I know) ring tones on the planet, Tracfone may just be perfect for you, too! With all the neatest phones from LG, Motorola, and Kyocera, none of your friends will know that you are on a prepaid plan. And you'll be laughing all the way to the bank!
Setup is easy either online or via their toll-free number. Most phones comes with a few minutes to get you started, and there are some great deals going on every day! I love my pink phone with accessory package, 20 starter minutes, and charger -- it was only $14.99! Add another airtime card, and use code 50722 to get an extra 60 minutes with any prepaid minutes purchase (bonus won't show up until purchase is complete.) Crazy, isn't it? Working from home can drive any WAHM or WAHD a bit batty. Good thing there's a resource that knows it and share some sanity with it's hard-working readers.
The WAHM Magazine is a great read for anyone doing the 9-5 thing (or 2-11 thing) while raising kids. If you have a dedicated home office or just schlep a laptop around during Play-Doh hour, there's something good you can take away from this mag! And even though I've contributed to this paperless and totally eco-friendly publication, I'm not playing favorites.... The WAHM Magazine has even partnered with Trees for the Future, which means they'll plant 10 trees for every new subscription!
Not ready to take the plunge? You can buy single issues, too! And even though the magazine is digital, it's still very portable. Just save your purchased issue as a PDF file for easy viewing offline!

With all the drinks on the market, is it any surprise that there is now one designed specifically for Moms and Moms-to-be? What would that "perfect" drink contain? Probably the same thing that our tested product, Glow Mama, has in it!

I love the convenience of having hard flooring throughout my whole house. It's easier for all the spills and thrills that having 3 young boys can bring about. What I DON'T like is the nasty residue and yucky mop water that is involved with traditional mopping. I have now officially converted to a new way to mop, and I'm sure you'll love it too!

Review of iRobot Roomba 400

If I could only have a robot for all my household chores, I'd be a much happier lady, and my house would be cleaner!
While we haven't entered the age of having a robot for every need, we've gotten pretty close with the invention of the iRobot Roomba 400 vacuum cleaner. I picked up the base model for the line of handy helpers just last week, and I was impressed beyond belief!
Just charge up your Roomba, set it in the middle of any floor, push the button, and go do something else for awhile. Roomba will take up to 45 minutes sweeping and vacuuming your hardwood or carpeted room without any assistance! It has features such as stair avoidance, automatic transitioning from hard floors to carpets, a large bag-less bin, and the ability to vacuums beneath furniture and other hard-to-reach places! When it's done, you just open the bagless container and dump it in the trash!
I couldn't believe the amount of dirt, dust, and pet hair that the Roomba picked up even AFTER I swept with my regular broom!

I have a confession to make... while I totally adore all the moms who practice "babywearing" and lug their little ones around in the most stylish of baby carriers, it just hasn't worked out for me in the past. I'm not sure if it is because all my babies have been tiny, and it has been easier to lug them under my arm like a football, or because I'm a little slow to figure out all the flaps, straps, and clips that many of today's carriers force you to continually adjust. (Plus I'm a little scared that my kid may come tumbling out if I forget to fasten something!)One product has changed my view of babywearing forever. It is the Scootababy. Designed for tots over 6 months, I gave it a whole-hearted try with my tiny 1-yr-old. I was amazed to say the least.
This very simple carrier is like no other in terms of construction. It features a lightly padded, shaped seat for baby to sit in, and it doesn't take an army of helpers to get baby in and properly fastened. There is only ONE buckle (much like a seatbelt) and two adjustable straps. That's it. Nothing more. (And we love the fleece shoulder -- super comfy!)
It is comfy, simple-looking, and by far the most practical carrier I've ever tried! I carried my son all day long at a crowded Nebraska Cornhusker football game in crowds of 80,000 people with no worries. He was content to be near me, I was happy to have him safe, and my back and shoulders showed no signs of the usual wear-and-tear that some carriers have granted me in the past.

For those of you who are hopelessly unorganized and looking to start 2008 with a new resolution, I may just have the answer for you! I recently downloaded the Cozi Central organization software. It's FREE, it works, and I am really, really excited to share it with you.
Cozi is a solution that is easy and effective. A simple download (less than a minute), and you are on your way to getting families on the same page, right away! Cozi features a shared family calendar, shopping lists, messages and mobile access, and photo collage screensavers that are easy to view at home, on the road, or from your mobile phone. Everything is easy for families to view and change as needed, and it even syncs with your Outlook program!
What I loved best about Cozi is that is is so simple to get started. Just a few pieces of information (nothing too personal), a quick download, and I'm ready to go! "Are they all yours?"
We are only a family of 6, but we still get this asked of us all the time. I can't imagine what larger families have rudely asked of them when they venture out into the small family world. Table for Eight is a lifesaver of a book, not only because it is helpful with its tips, but it just makes you feel better about having a larger family!
Meagan Francis has eloquently expressed in her new book what many of us has only dreamed to say... Large families are awesome, and here's the how and why! While we all know how that handful of children were.. um.. made, it is also nice to hear how to manage a large household once they get here. Tips on room arrangements, shopping for groceries, and education are all covered, not only by the clever Ms. Francis, but by dozens of "real" mothers who have been there/done that.
It doesn't matter if you only have one child. Parents of twosies, listen up! This is the book on family management, and if you are fortunate to have a shoe-full at your house, take heart! You are not alone in your quest to raise an army in both grace and love.
