Review of Attachables Clothing from LAF Brand
Tuesday, July 15, 2008
School shopping wouldn't be complete without a new wardrobe for your kids. Do you shop for a cool fall? Will it be a late summer season? Do you dress for hot days or cool evenings? Sometimes it's just too difficult to figure out if they need summer wear or winter wear, and with your dollars being stretched to the limit, wouldn't it be great to buy both? With Attachables Clothing from LAF Brand, (LAF stands for Lil Angel Face) you can have a shirt "for all seasons." These clever little shirts in styles for boys and girls come with sleeves that can be taken off and reattached with ease (but not so much ease that little ones will be leaving them all over the yard.) We adored the black T-shirt style of the LAF Out Loud Tee. It was soft, thick, and durable (to keep my toddler guy from trashing it in an afternoon.) It also fit well, leaving my 5T son with some room to grow! The velcro holding the sleeves on aren't your typical stuff -- they held on tight, and were placed all along the sleeve, leaving it just where it needed to be for those cool evenings (or when you want to keep bugs away from tiny arms!) Washing the shirts were a breeze (just remember to keep the sleeves attached to keep the dryer from eating them.) And when hot days rolled around, the sleeves came off with a little help from me. Way cool!
Nip Back-to-School spending in the bud with these truly "2-in-1" shirts with style! See all the designs at LAF's website.
Want one for your kiddo? LAF Brand is giving one lucky reader their very own size 3T black Tee. Just visit LAF's website and let us know another cool product you like! Leave a comment here with your pick by next Tuesday, July 22nd at 11pm CST. One entry per person. Contest subject to our full rules and privacy policy.

Review of Gimos Children's Clothing
Wednesday, June 18, 2008
Bright and bold.
No, I'm not talking about my children (although they totally are both!) I'm referring to the next thing to hit the U.S. in the children's clothing scene. Gimos is a too-cute-for-words (but not too cute, mind you) line of Latin-inspired designer clothing -- with a reasonable price tag.
Spicy and fresh, everything about it is fun. We experienced first-hand the quality behind this line! Each piece is comfy to wear, and easy to care for. (And it made us wish they made garb for adults, too!)
Just check out this 100% cotton T-shirt for boys featuring (of all things) a fishy skeleton!
Or look at the unique beauty of this girls' 18-24 months necklace dress!
With exciting styles for boys and girls ages 3 months to 14 years (a newborn section will be added soon), there a fashion statement ready to be made for any kid! There's even a sale section with some cozy coats to die for!Gimos is vibrant gear with international appeal. See all that they have to offer at GimosKidswear.com!

Review of Jazzy Toes
Thursday, May 1, 2008

What's cuter than baby socks and baby shoes? How about a baby sock that looks like a shoe!
I'm that neglectful mother you see running around, toting her tot sans shoes. I am that mom that thinks shoes can be a little cumbersome to put on, and I understand that keeping them on is a whole 'nother issue. I'm that parent that feels lucky if we survive a shopping trip without losing a loafer in the store or the parking lot outside the grocery. I'd rather just go with socks, but I hate the glaring looks for bringing baby out shoeless.
Now I have a fashionable alternative with Jazzy Toes! These super-adorable, appropriate-for-any-occasion socks are a cozy alternative to traditional footwear. They feature the "look" of a shoe (or boot or sandal) and have those neat grippy textures on the bottom to prevent slipping! The high-quality sock has just the right amount of elastic to keep 'em on, but they don't constrict a chubby baby's ankles.

I couldn't believe how cute my little pumpkin looked in his! We strolled around with the Jazzy Toes on and got so many compliments! I got approving looks like you wouldn't believe, and he was wearing socks the whole time.
In sizes 0-12 months, 12-24 months, they come in both girl and boy styles. They are packaged in a cute box great for giving and are perfect for sending through the mail! Check out the cutest thing to happen to socks at Jazzy Toe's website!

Review of C-Panty
Monday, April 7, 2008

Any mommas out there who had their babies via c-section? As a mother who has had 4 of the uncomfortable surgeries, I am so excited about this next product! I know first-hand that scar management is usually an afterthought in the weeks after delivery.
The C-Panty is a brilliant pair of underwear that keeps everything in place, helps you to look your best, and is oh-so comfortable to wear! The beauty of this panty is that it is the ONLY product I have experienced that gives you that extra support and comfortable scar protection without looking like a medieval torture contraption!
The fashionable (yes, I said it) undies are comfy and stretchy -- made from 92% nylon and 8% spandex. The little panel that covers your scar is made from Silon-TEX® (a silicon material.) Together they provide a slimming, shaping panty that smooths out that weird little "shelf" that we all can get soon after delivery. It won't snag or stick to your scar. It won't further irritate an itchy healing. It's just plain awesome!
The C-Panty can be worn as soon as a c-section scar heals, and for as long as you desire it's flattening and flattering effects!
For more information on the full line of C-Panty, see their website! Go Momma!

Review of Embrace Bra Strap Solution
Wednesday, March 12, 2008

Guys, you can avert your eyes for a minute. This is a ladies-only solution to a common bra strap problem. How many times have you tried to wear a regular bra under a racer-backed tank or exercise top? Do your straps tend to "drift" off of your shoulders, no matter how tight they are? Perhaps you just need them to be spaced a little closer for that special-occasion dress?
I am pleased to say that Embrace has the solution to all your bra problems (or most of them, anyway.) The Embrace Bra Strap Solution is tiny, but effective. It's translucent plastic shape holds your straps together to instantly create a cross-back style! It is the fashion hack every woman needs...
The Embrace website offers step-by-step directions on how to use the product. It also comes with "rave" reviews from women who also love how simple it is to use. (I had no problem with mine... instant success!)
For more information on the solution to all your bra problems, visit the Embrace website. This affordable gadget is destined for every woman's wardrobe!

Review of Poi Wear Cuisine Catchers
Thursday, February 14, 2008

We've already told you about our favorite washable bib from Poi Wear. The Hi-Chair Bib was a big hit here at Lille Punkin', and you can read the full review here.
But what about for us big people? Grown-ups have accidents, too! While it would be great to think that we wouldn't ever need a bib, there are those occasions where I really wish I had one. The Cuisine Catcher from Poi Wear is made from the same high-quality, washable material as the little bib that inspired it. The Cuisine Catcher is easy to get on and off and has a very effective waterproof liner.
The styles that the Cuisine Catcher come in are classy! Made for both men and women, the uses for the one-size bib are endless:
- Protect your work uniform. Nurses, delivery drivers, and police officers have all used the Cuisine Catcher to avoid embarrassing stains from unexpected mealtime accidents.
- Help out an older friend or relative. Perfect for the retirement community, the Cuisine Catcher can give a dignified look to keeping loved ones clean.
- Be creative. Dabbling in an art while sitting at the table? Frosting a cake or finishing a craft? Less cumbersome than a full smock or overshirt, the Cuisine Catcher is beautiful and so easy to throw in the wash!
- Great for eating in the car or on airplanes!
- Super for nursing moms! Gives you a little more privacy, or allows for you to catch a bite while baby eats. (It is not recommended that you eat hot food while nursing.)

Review of Nee-Pad Pants from Poi Wear
Monday, February 11, 2008

I used to think that crawling was the hardest thing little knees could go through. Then I witnessed my little ones trying to walk... The months between when they start to cruise around from sofa to sofa, and when they really take off, are painful ones for little guys and girls. Their first instinct is to drop down on their knees, sometimes quite abruptly, and crawl off to their destination.
Poi Wear (the makers of the adorable Hi-Chair Bib) have made a solution that is durable and adorable! Need Pad Pants and matching tops have boutique beauty with everyday comfort. Each pair of pants has a cute padded appliqué that makes for comfier crawling and falling! Designs are available in balloons, hearts, basketballs, and cars, and come in sizes 9, 12, and 18 months (the age when most babies start to walk!)
Each pair of Need Pad Pants are made from stretchy pre-shrunk denim and have an elastic waist for easy diaper changings, and they comes with a matching onesie T-shirt. (The balloon and heart designs are adorned with Swarovski crystals!)
My little guy looks so happy in his Need Pad Pants! Check out Poi Wear's website for all the designs and available sizes!

Review of BabyLegs
Tuesday, January 29, 2008

"Legwarmers for boys?" my husband snarkily asked me as I put the first pair of BabyLegs on my 1-year-old son. "They are not legwarmers... exactly." And they weren't.
BabyLegs are a legwarmer of sorts. They really do warm baby's legs. But they are more than that. They are adorable, functional, and oh-so-addictive. My baby's legs may never see daylight again!
Not only do BabyLegs come in so many styles, they are perfect for every baby! That means that my tinier-than-average, but perfectly healthy little guy can keep his legs warm all through the winter, even though most of his pants fall right off his skinny little waist! No need to worry about where your baby places on the growth chart; BabyLegs is for EVERY BABY!
Diaper changes are a breeze with BabyLegs. Crawling is more comfortable (especially on cold laminate floors) with BabyLegs. Outfits have a little more pizazz with BabyLegs. Life is just a little more fun... with BabyLegs!
BabyLegs comes in one size (longer styles are available) and many patterns including, flames, stripes, polka dots, and just plain cute! BabyLegs can be worn for many years, and fit up to size 10. (Small adults may enjoy them as well!)
For a complete look at the fad that isn't just a fad, visit BabyLegs at their website. You won't be able to buy just one pair!

Review of Flip n' Flop Adventures
Wednesday, December 5, 2007

Ok, so it's snowing here, and beachwear is the farthest thing from my mind. But somewhere in the world there is sunshine RIGHT NOW! Families are also gearing up to go on holiday vacations to warm destinations over the next few months.
This would be the perfect time to introduce the quirkiest and cutest pair of flip flops.. ever. Lyons Tales, Inc. has created a summer sandal that is durable, stylish, and teaches a lesson at the same time. Each pair of Flip n' Flop Adventures sandals contains a secret compartment in the heel that contains a book for kids to enjoy with a lesson on compassion and looking at the world while wearing someone else's "shoes!"
When my daughter first glanced at these shoes, she got very excited. (It's not often that she cares much when I review things... so this was big.) "Mom! They are the coolest flip flops! There is a place in there for me to put my money!"
So even after your child has read the story included in each pair of Flip n' Flops, they can remove the book and use the secret compartment for hiding keys, money, notes, or even stickers or jewelry! (Note: Shoes are only to be worn with the compartment safely in the shoe.)
Surprisingly, the shoes are very sturdy and comfortable even with the compartment. They come in 4 hot colors for both boys and girls, and can be worn by sizes 10 - 2.
When kids are done with their books, new ones can be purchased along with replacement compartments, so there is no end to the lessons that can be learned.
Fashion and values, what's cooler than that? Visit www.flipnflops.com for more details!

Review of Myself Belts
Monday, September 24, 2007

If any of you have an independent toddler at home, then you're probably used to hearing, "NO! I can do it!" Simple tasks, that would go quickly with a little help, seem to take forever as you give your child the room to try it on their own. We recently encountered this while teaching my son to dress himself and use the potty.
Myself Belts allow a child to be independent and encourage a healthy self-esteem as they fasten their own child-sized belts! The belts can be unfastened and refastened easily with only one hand, and the velcro makes for a sturdy closure that can be mastered by even the youngest of hands. A simple snap keeps the belt from being completely removed from the waistline of the child's pants (where it could get lost or caught on something.)
The Myself Belts come in all kinds of designs, so they are fashionable too! My son loved his khaki-colored sailboat belt. He wore it with jeans and shorts (and loved to show it off to his friends at church.) Having a "belt just like Daddy" was great for his confidence!

The Myself Belts are perfect for those stages of development where kids want to do more, and they also come in adult sizes for those grownups with specials needs. The belts are mom-invented and have won awards for their innovation and ease of use!
Lille Punkin' readers are invited to use an exclusive discount code to receive 10% off their order! Just enter code LILLE PUNKIN during the online checkout process before October 15, 2007. If you order 2 or more belts, you also receive free shipping!

Review of Children's Clothing from Bug Zoo!
Friday, July 27, 2007

I seriously have never considered myself to be to brand-loyal when it comes to children's clothing. I'll admit that if it is cute and on sale, I'll buy it! But there are a few pieces in my kids' closet that I will treasure because they are classic, beautiful, and well-made.
Every item in Bug Zoo's clothing line is just that! Adorably-made pieces are truly mix-and-match for easy dressing, and every garment is 100% African made, from 100% African grown cotton and African milled fabrics. Bug Zoo's manufacturing process is truly phenomenal. They do not make use of, nor do they support "sweatshop" manufacturing in any way. Each garment is independently manufactured on Bug Zoo's premises by highly qualified seamstresses who are paid according to each garment sewn, depending on the garment and detail that goes into each piece.
Check out the charming outfit that my 8-year-old daughter loves:

She told me that she felt like a princess in this 2-piece ensemble, but she was also happy to be able to play freely in the comfy pants and modest-fitting top! I like that there are no morning struggles to determine "which pants" go with "which shirts." We also like that there are no itchy tags, scratchy seams, or stiff-formed lines!
With sizes from baby to 7/8, you will find something whimsical for every child. You can see the new line at BugZoo.com or stop by their online store!

Review of Stride Rite Superball Shoes
Friday, July 20, 2007

I'll admit that there are so many adorable shoes out there. And while I secretly yearn for the joy of picking out some pink patent leather mary janes or some Hello Kitty sandals for a tiny little girl, I will have to be content with the world of shoe shopping for boys. (My only daughter is 8, and can insist on picking out her OWN shoes.)
I had the opportunity to try a pair of Superball shoes from Stride Rite, and I ordered a pair that would fit me! (I ordered a boy's size that was comparable to my women's size 7.5) After wearing these unique shoes for about a week, here is what I have to report:
The shoes were a comfortable fit. Wider around the base, but easily tightened by the grippy laces, they were quickly "broken in" to fit my feet perfectly. They were breathable, and my feet didn't get as hot in them as in some of my other tennis shoes. A walk around the block a few times proved that they had a nice cushion in the soles, but they were firm enough to jog or walk across harder surfaces.
As far as balance goes, I have been walking for some time and was unsure how the superball effect assisted me with my center of gravity. I did feel that they were lighter than most athletic shoes, and this seemed to keep me from leaning too much while going uphill.
The wild colors seem to draw a little attention to this MaMa of 4, but on a child, the bright patterns would most definitely seem natural. (And in my house, brighter colored shoes are more easily found in the yard before the mower gets to them.)
Overall, I think these are just the high-quality athletic shoe you would some to expect from Stride Rite. Available at all Stride Rite retailers for $54-56 in sizes 7 "Boys" to 7 "Big Boys".

SwaddleMe from Kiddopotamus
Tuesday, July 10, 2007

You've just brought your baby home from the hospital and he/she needs swaddling. You pull out the adorable receiving blanket your received as a gift and start to mummify your little one into a nice snug hold. Fiddling around to nurse, you realize that your baby is starting to come unwrapped! How did those hospital nurses do it so easily?
After 4 babies, I am still no swaddler. I know the benefits of swaddling well: better sleep, more content babies, and a feeling of security similar to that in the womb. I needed an easier way to get my baby bundled - safely and quickly!
Kiddopotamus offers a brilliant product called "SwaddleMe" for those of us with less-than-perfect swaddling skills. A blanket made to wrap and hold baby, it uses velcro to secure the wrap and keep baby snug. SwaddleMe comes in cotton, fleece, flannel, and organic blends. Starting at preemie sizes on up, there is a perfect fit available for any birthweight infant.
What I love most about my SwaddleMe is the easy access slit in the material for buckling your baby in the carseat! Having a January baby in Nebraska meant brutal cold conditions for the first few well-baby checks. Wrapping the baby FIRST, and then putting him in the carseat was so much easier and safer.
SwaddleMe is available at Amazon and other online retailers.
