Review of First Act Discovery’s 30” Acoustic Guitar3:31 PM
This isn't the first guitar to enter out home. In fact, my 5-year-old got his first guitar as a Christmas present almost two years ago. But kids being kids, he had it almost destroyed by the time he was old enough to appreciate it (and he had been begging me for a "real" guitar for some time.)
When we received a First Act Discovery Acoustic Guitar for him to review, he was ecstatic! He noticed right away, that it was perfectly sized for him. It looked and felt like any adult acoustic guitar, and the construction was much sturdier than we had expected. Here are some highlights from my son's experience with guitar:
- It was light enough for him to carry around, but not flimsy (my 2-year-old fell on it once or twice, but it withstood the trauma.)
- The sound quality was very good. I've played guitar, and for something you can pick up from the retailer for under $30, this is really as good as it gets.
- The learning features of the guitar were the best -- the stickers could be placed on the string post covers to help coach kids on their notes. (And they easily come off once they've learned it.)
If your kids are asking about picking up an instrument, the Discovery Guitar is a safe pick (no pun intended). I could go on and on on the benefits of starting your children young with a flexible and fun music program.. but you probably didn't come here for that.
Sturdy and safe, the First Act is truly a class-act! Read more about it at www.firstact.com.
