Do your kids bug you while you're trying to get dinner done? Are you wishing that they would try new foods and appreciate the hard work that goes into preparing a meal? By involving your children in the day-to-day happenings of the family kitchen, you can solve these problems -- and share some amazing time with your kids!
I was thrilled to work with Chef Boyardee and several other fabulous bloggers to create a creative way to bring families together through food: an ebook called The Little Chefs Project: A Collection of Kid-Friendly Tips, Tricks, and Recipes for Fun in the Kitchen. I was able to contribute to Chapter 4 of the book, titled "Family Time."
Not only did I get to share some of my family's strategies for entertaining and educating, but I was able to provide photos of my family getting "chefy" in the kitchen! It was a fun reminder of how these little moments with the kids doing small tasks (peeling veggies or mixing sauce, for example) can set them up with a lifetime of good eating habits, as well as create memories for all of us!
One thing I enjoyed about sharing was that I realized how much I already share the "cooking" time with my kids, but I also saw opportunities to do even more. To get your family started on the road to doing more together in the kitchen, I encourage you to check out the ebook. It's free -- and so much fun!
We also have a giveaway to help equip you for many meal experiences with your kiddos. One lucky reader will receive a fantastic Chef Boyardee prize pack that includes:
- Kids’ kitchen measure and prep kit
- Kids’ recipe box
- Scrapbook album
- 2 Chef Boyardee chef hats
