Spending Less on Big Events with ScoreBig.com

We don't always get out and about with the kids, but when we do -- we like to spend the day having really BIG fun!  As you can imagine, attending any museum, sporting event, or theme park costs my family at least $100; there are 7 of us in total!

I've been able to save quite a bit of money on these types of day trips throughout the years, both by using things like homeschooler discount programs and shopping way in advance.  I've just discovered -- and used successfully-- another way to save called ScoreBig.com

ScoreBig is a shopping site that lets you buy tickets for events in your area and save on the total ticket price by making an offer. (You can choose the seats you want, so everyone sits together.) In my case, I loaded my cart with 6 tickets to the LegoLand Discovery Center in Kansas City, MO (a destination on our next family vacation to-do list) and I made an offer based on what we could afford.  I was asked to enter all of my payment and shipping info, because -- if the site accepted my offer -- my tickets would be automatically purchased.  I submitted my offer and crossed my finger: my offer was accepted!

We saved on the cost of our next family vacation, and the tickets were shipped to my door via Fedex. (I had to sign for the package.) Shipping was free, and there were no additional fees. These particular tickets are good for any day from now until the end of March 2015, but some tickets you may buy are for one day events, etc.

If you are looking to attend a concert, museum, baseball game, or your closest LegoLand Discovery Center, I'd recommend checking this site first to see what's available!
