It's been a couple of months since I took our big family to an amazing weekend at Worlds of Fun. (You can see more about our adventures here.) Now, I'm totally excited to be preparing for a voyage back to the Kansas City area, where we will be taking in the rides, fun, and adventures that comes with visiting on the 4th of July weekend!
Something you may not know about me is that my birthday is on the 3rd of July. But guess what? My husband's birthday is the 3rd of July, too! Because of this, we have always made it a priority to celebrate our birthdays and the 4th together with our children, and I can't think of a better way to do that then with the small jaunt to Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun for the weekend coming up!
What can you expect if you, too, decide to get away on the most patriotic weekend of the year? You can revel in our nation's birthday with some amazing extras, such as:
Yes, that's right! Veterans of the American Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard can all enjoy complimentary admission on July 4th. Simply present your government-issued ID at the guest relations both near them main entrance to get your ticket! (It's valid for all active duty, retired, and reserve with honorable or medical discharge.)
As an additional "thank you" to those brave men and women who serve our country, World of Fun is offering discounted admission to up to 6 members of their immediate family at a great price of just $29.99 plus tax!
They always have such fun shows and acts to watch, but this weekend is extra special. You'll have to be there to see all the details of what surprises are in store, but you can get a peek at the full schedule of events before you go (for those who like to plan.)
What 4th of July celebration would be complete without these? I'm so excited for a professional fireworks show in one of them most notable areas of the country for fireworks -- Kansas City! Starting at 10pm, we are prepared to have a seat and watch the skies light up in honor of our amazing history. Look for this spectacular display on the evenings of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th of July this year!
My kids didn't get to go last time. We just got too tired to finish all the rides we wanted to go on. The older two are up for the challenge of the appropriately-named roller coaster that lets your feet dangle. Will you be taking a ride on one of Worlds of Fun's newest and most daring thrill rides?
