We Try Culturelle for Kids

9:20 AM

We received a package of Culturelle for Kids to try in our home. We were eager to give it a go, because we already used products that had Lactobacillus GG (the "good bacteria" or probiotic) for the adults in the family, and we believed that they had helped our overall health and wellness.  Something with the same benefits for kids was already on our wishlist.

The product came with 30 powder packets per box, so that was enough for almost a week's worth of product for our 5 kids.  Culturelle for Kids is safe for even infants, so I could use this on my 9-month old son safely.

According to the product's own website, the following benefits have been shown in kids that use the product regularly:
  • Support of their still-developing immune system*
  • Possiblity to reduce upset stomach*
  • Helps to reduce occasional diarrhea*
  • Helps reduce the length and severity of antibiotic-associated diarrhea*
It's important to note, that like all natural remedies, the above statements have not been evaluated by the FDA, and this product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.  That being said, we happily put one packet in each child's juice cup, and they easily drank it down.

This dairy and gluten-free product is an easy way to introduce tummy soothing bacteria into your child's diet.  Just be sure to put it into cool foods and drinks only (hot foods can kill the good bacteria), and store it below 75 degrees to keep it active.  (Refrigeration is recommended.)

*I wrote this review while participating in a Mom Central Consulting blog tour on behalf of Culturelle. I received a Culturelle for Kids product sample and a gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate.
