Our Back-to-School Clothing Action Plan at Walmart

Back to school shopping for 5 kids could get CRAZY expensive, if I wasn't careful. Thankfully, on a recent trip to Bentonville for the Walmart Moms program, I was able to preview some of the back-to-school clothing developments that would be happening in store this fall.

Well, believe it or not, fall is NOW.  Clothes are already in stock at my local Walmart, and prices are incredibly low.  One item that caught my eye as something my 4 boys would love is the Faded Glory 2-piece shirt set.  It features a plaid button-down short-sleeved collared shirt with a matching tee.  You can wear them together, or separately, but they cost just $9.97.  (And Walmart.com has them on clearance right now for just $8.00!)

Here is Micah showing off his set. There is an assortment of colors and styles for this product, so you can get one for all the boys in your family and not have them looking too much the same:

He's also sporting a pair of Wrangler jeans in black.  My store had quite a few styles to choose from, including sizes in regular, slim, and husky.

One of my kids had so many hand-me-downs, that he really didn't need any shirts or pants.  But I think that it's only fair to start off the school year with something new, so we looked at the underwear and sock aisle.  I knew right away that we wanted to stick with Hanes socks (they are so easy to match), and they came in a bundle pack with a free pair inside.  (Save even more money by shopping online; they have 20 pairs for just $16.00!)

We also grabbed a 5-pack of Lego Ninjago underwear.  My boys never seem to outgrow character briefs, and it's one of the easiest ways for them to help sort and put away their own clothes!  (Each kid gets a different character pack.) These are priced at $8.97 normally, but are on rollback for just $8.00!

While we normally peruse the character tee section of our store, we skipped it this year.  My kids had enough t-shirts, and I like to  shop a little later in the year for those, after I see what they really need for activities.  Here is my store's "Wall of Tees", as I call it:

I'm blessed that we can shop year-round so that we aren't stuck buying EVERYTHING at one time during Back-to-School season.  Since my Walmart is so affordable, however, it's good to know that, when we do need to buy something, it won't break our budget!
