Holiday Giveaways Day 7: Schwan's Home Delivery for the Holidays

2:30 AM

Moms have all kinds of expectations placed upon them during the holidays; the house must be clean, the kids presentable, and the food fabulous.  But what if you have just had a baby, are struggling as a single mom, or can't quite get ahead on the dishes?

Schwan's Home Service has made it super easy to impress guests this season with their line of holiday main dishes, sides, and desserts.  We sampled some of the easiest to prepare foods we've had in ages. And all of it tasted worthy of the seasonal dinner table.

First, we had the pre-sliced frozen ham.  Allowing it to thaw in the fridge for 48 hours had it ready to bake in the oven (we kept the special bag on it.) It was juicy and perfect for serving!

Next, I sauteed the brussels sprouts in a pan with a little olive oil. They were very well-seasoned, and these tiny sprouts were mild tasting, too!

My favorites were the roasted sweet potatoes.  We poured them out of the bag into a baking dish and baked them with a little butter and brown sugar.  They had a nutty, roasted flavor that was unique to this product, and they cooked in far less time than raw potatoes.

Finally, we indulged in the dessert: Red Velvet Cheesecake, a mixture of two of my favorites!  One small slice really hits the spot!

I'm usually no fan of frozen shortcuts, but when they are of top-quality, I can't pass them up!  As a mom of a new baby, this made our family's meal a breeze.  I highly recommend these products for anyone short on time or preparation space!

Wanna Win?  We are giving one lucky reader a chance at a home meal, too!  To be entered to win, tell us one other item on the Schwan's site that you might serve during the holidays.  You have until December 3rd to get your entries in. U.S. only, 18+.  Limit one entry per person.
