4 Easy Options for Holiday Entertaining: Recipes Included!8:55 PM
Christmas and the New Year are both full of opportunities to get together with friends, laugh, and eat food! Appetizers and desserts are my favorite things to eat during the season, so I love when Walmart's Entertaining Guide comes out each year. Not only do I get caught up on all the new convenience foods they carry in-store, but I can access recipes that a busy mom like me will actually wow her guests with.
Here are my favorites from this year's issue!
1. Lasagna Cups.
These are now officially, not only my favorite crowd-pleasing mini-meal, but they are my family's favorite way to eat pasta. To create these beautiful and easy-to-eat apps, you'll need nothing more than a Party Size Stouffer's Lasagna, a package of wonton wrappers, and shredded mozzarella cheese.
Start by warming up the lasagna tray in the oven according to the directions. After it's warmed through, let it site for a few minutes before cutting one third of it up into small squares. Then, continue by greasing the cups of a muffin tin and lining them each with one wonton wrapper.
Bake the wrapper in a 350 degree oven for about 6 minutes. Take out. Place a small square of the lasagna on top of the wrapper, making sure to press it down into the bottom.
2. Peppermint Sandwiches.
These are so simple, and delicious, too! Kids can help make these little treats that consist of Vanilla Wafers with Hershey's Spreads between them. (We like the hazelnut variety).
Roll the sandwiches in crushed up peppermint candies!
3 and 4. Spanakopita and Pastry Puffs.
I always loved how elegant these looked. Now you can create them in your own home with no prep except baking!
Bake them according to the package instructions for a beautiful, delicate, and savory appetizer your guests with love!
Remember, all these recipes and product ideas can be found via the online entertaining guide. Happy eating!
