There are times when I really feel isolated living in rural Nebraska, especially when it comes to food. Sure, I can grow many things in my own garden, but fruits are limited, and there is nothing local and fresh during the winter!
I was asked to try a fruit delivery from the online marketplace GrubMarket. When the California Fruit Bounty Box arrived, I could smell the fruit through the box! It was filled to the top with all kinds of fruits, some that were new to me!
Here's what it looked like when it arrived:
Inside there was a collection of ripe citrus fruits, apples, pears, dates, avocados, a pomegranate, a pineapple, and even a pommelo! We enjoyed trying the new foods, along with sampling our family favorites.
The kids weren't quite sure what to make of the dates. It was our first time trying them!
