How We Celebrate Star Wars:The Force Awakens Release (A Viewing Party)

9:00 PM

The long-anticipated film Star Wars: The Force Awakens is now out on digital, DVD, and Blu-ray formats, and my kids couldn't be more excited!  We snuggled up to watch the movie on Blu-ray this week (thanks to Walmart) and we spent the day doing all kinds of family-friendly Star Wars activities...

Before the movie, we enjoyed the warm outside weather (it was almost 80 degrees!) and a quick snack of popcorn with STARburst jelly beans mixed in.

We also played with the boys' light-sabers and let them get the wiggles out a bit before the movie.

Coming inside, we pulled up the pillows and blanket and enjoyed, what I think was, the best movie in a long, long while. We really found the film to be movie, exciting, and worthy of the cast and crew that put their everything into it.

Now that the DVD/Blu-Ray/Digital Combo is out in my Walmart store and at, we were able to see all the bonus materials, too. There were a lot of them! Our movie also came with a Walmart exclusive -- one piece from the Star Wars Galactic Connexions trading game!

Finally, we played one of our favorite games purchased from Walmart: Pictopia: Star Wars Edition. With 1000 questions about the movie franchise, it's a must-have for die-hard Star Wars fans!  Even the kids who can't read could play along... there were a lot of pictures to be quizzed about!

We had the best time as a family -- probably one of the most enjoyable days we've had in awhile! Will your family be checking out the newest Star Wars movie? If you do, be sure to share with us how you celebrated.  Go on... #ShowUsYourForce! (And snag Star Wars: The Force Awakens exclusive bundle -- with Connexions trading piece at Walmart for just $19.96!)
