Walmart Disc to Digital Service Explained

Did you almost lose it when the world transitioned from VHS tapes to DVD's and Blu-Ray?  I did.  Those tapes lasted forever -- even with my kids treating them roughly.  The DVD's, however?  Not so much.

Thankfully, there is an affordable way to back up our family DVD's in "the cloud" so we can keep a copy forever and watch them in high-quality anywhere we go.  Walmart has partnered with Vudu to offer "Disc to Digital Service", and for between $2 and $5, you can get a digital copy of your existing DVD's and BluRays to view with the online Vudu service.

Here is a quick video explanation of how it works:

So, to recap:

1) Sign up for an account at Vudu (it's free!)

2) Search for your DVD's.  Choose what format you'd like to have it stored as.

3) Print the list to take to Walmart.  Purchase your digital copy to be stored on the Vudu cloud.

4) Enjoy your digital copy! (And you get to keep your disc, as well.)

While selection is limited at the moment, they are expanding all the time.  Would you use this service?
