Pinterest.
It's the buzz word of the internet right now, and it's sending bloggers into a flurry of activity to create the best "pinnable" content to cater to the popular website. But is there a secret to what will bring the most traffic? Are there a list of do's and don'ts that both bloggers and pinners should be aware of? Pinterest for Dummies seeks to answer those questions, and it does a darn good job doing so.
The book, written by Kelby Carr, is a seriously thorough resource for anyone wanting to get started on Pinterest. It tells you how to request an invite, how to set up your first boards, and why changing your board names is a pretty bad idea. It also gives basic etiquette for staying out of trouble and making your pins count!
For those who have been using it for awhile, and want to expand their skillset, there are a few really great tips to pick up on promoting your blog content and keeping your content "pin-worthy". She also helps you to integrate your other social media accounts into Pinterest.
(One thing to note is that this book pretty much assumes you are using Wordpress for your blog; if you are using Blogger - like I do -, the tips for installing widgets won't apply. Rest assured, however, that a quick Google search should give you the info you need to adapt.)
I gathered quite a few little tidbits I wasn't aware of, and I recommend this book to anyone with a desire to enjoy Pinterest more or use it to promote their social media platforms. (There are some incredible examples of users who are doing it right that you can use for inspiration, too!)
