Review of VTech Switch & Go Dinos

Boys love dinosaurs, and with 4 in our house, anything that resembles one will be a hit -- at least for a little while.  We have had many dinosaur toys in the past, but after the initial "wow" wears off, they are usually abandoned.

We recently tried VTech's Switch and Go Dinos, which are a combination of a transforming toy and an electronic toy.  The dinosaurs we received can be easily "transformed" into a truck or plane, and unlike versions of toys that do the same thing for older kids, these are very sturdy, and the joints move more fluidly.  Instead of having them cry over how they accidentally popped off an arm or broke a piece, these can be changed from dino to vehicle with no help from adults beyond the initial "how to" session.

Span the Spinosaurus Switch & Go Dino -- as a plane.
The one toy actually shot out little discs, but instead of me worrying about where to keep the discs, the boys soon realized that they can be stored on the toy itself.  Awesome!

There is also an electronic component -- and this means batteries.  My boys love that the toys had digital "faces" and that the noises were so realistic.  I like that there is a volume control, not just the "off" and "annoyingly loud" option that most toys offer.

I *heart* volume control...
These Switch & Go Dinos are available from VTech, and there are a few options available.  My boys have not lost interest yet, so I'm hoping these will give them hours of play in the months and years ahead!
