Easter Goodies Roundup 2013 (Giveaway)

We are always looking for the best last-minute gift ideas for filling our little ones' Easter Baskets.  This year is no exception.  Here are our favorite picks for the season!

Hide 'Em and Hatch 'Em Eggs

These eggs are a neat alternative to candy.  Hide them like regular Easter eggs, then have kids put them in warm water when they find them.  They open in 3-4 days to reveal a cute little toy pet inside!  They are such an adorable gift, and kids will be amazed that they can "grow" their own pretend pet!  Get these eggs at Amazon in time for the holidays!

Cadbury Miniature Creme Eggs

If you're like me, Easter just isn't Easter without a Cabury Egg.  These delicious creme-filled treats are very rich, however, and I always had a hard time finishing mine in one setting.  (This led to me eating half and letting the other half dry out before I could get to it.)  This year, I was thrilled to see mini versions of the Cadbury Eggs that kids can eat with one bite!  These are available nationwide at most retailers, including Walmart!

Sesame Street Best of Friends DVD

Sesame Street is very popular at my house right now, but my kids prefer watching the older episodes than the newer ones.  This means that I'm always scouring the internet for classic clips and was very happy to see the new release of the "Best of Friends" DVD.  This video has over 2 hours of the best skits and songs from the few decades of the show!  While still maintaining an emphasis on learning shapes, counting, and phonics, you can enjoy celebrity segments with Johnny Cash, Ricky Garvais, Elvis Costello, and many more!  There is also a downloadable activity book and subtitles in both English and Spanish.  This is a great value in entertainment (the 2 hours kept my sick son still while I napped the other day.)  Stuff a basket this season by ordering in time for the holiday via Amazon!

Reese's Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Egg

For BIG fun for your sweet tooth, I can't recommend this treat enough.  It's got all the same yummy, creamy PB filling as the small ones, with enough substance to share between 2-3 people!  This is definitely the gem of the basket this year, and I can't wait to open mine and dig in.  It's available at most retailers, including Walmart!

Genesis Today Blueberry PowerBlast Drink Boxes

We like to put a little something to sip on in our baskets, as well, but many "juice" boxes are less than nutritious and feel like a waste of calories.  The Power-Rangers themed drink boxes from Genesis Today are completely different than anything we've tried.  They are a naturally flavored fruit punch that is a little sour but very tasty.  They have acai berries, blueberry, and concord grape juices, with no HFCS.  Find them in the refrigerated juice aisle of your local grocer.

Wanna Win?  We are giving away a two of the products from the guide: the Hide 'Em and Hatch "Em Eggs and the Best of Friends DVD.  While you won't receive them in time for Easter, I'm sure your kids will still enjoy them!  To be entered to win, make sure you're signed up for our monthly newsletter (sign up is on the left-hand side of the page.)  We'll pick a winner from all of our active subscribers to receive the prize on April 1st!
