Review of My Flipper and Tanner's Tasty Paste

My kids are really good about brushing their teeth.  There isn't any fuss when I ask them to do it, and they are great about brushing for the recommended 2 minutes.  The issues we usually have involve logistics (which is not surprising with 5 kids brushing in one bathroom at a time.)  There is scuffling, toothpaste everywhere, and dropped toothbrushes.

Two products we reviewed that have made our experience a bit more tolerable have been the My Flipper Toothbrush holder and Tanner's Tasty Paste.

My Flipper

This is a simple device that sticks onto a tile wall or mirror with a suction cup. It comes in various designs (like Hello Kitty and farm animals) and you simply press you toothbrush head into the open middle to insert and lock away your brush.  No more gross stray hairs on your brush.  No more kids letting their brushes "touch".  No more brushes being fumbled onto the floor.

When you're ready to use your brush, just give a gently pull on the handle toward you, and the middle opens up and your brush is ready to use!  These can be easily washed up or sanitized whenever you get a new brush, keeping your toothbrushes safer -- especially during flu season!

My Flipper retails for around $6.99 at retailers nationwide.  You can follow them on Twitter or Facebook!

Tanner's Tasty Paste

Kids toothpaste is interesting.  It comes in all kinds of flavors, yet it is also a pain to deal with.  My toddler wants to use the same paste as his brothers, but is not yet old enough to keep from swallowing fluoride   That's why Tanner's Tasty Paste was such a welcome addition to our hygiene routine.

The paste, which comes in two versions (one for toddlers and babies with NO fluoride and one for older kids with fluoride), is easily dispensed from the tubes.  The best part is that there is two flavors for the older kids' paste (chocolate ice cream and vanilla ice cream) and one flavor for the toddler paste (Baby Bling version of vanilla ice cream.)  Why is this so awesome?  Because I can personally put the vanilla version that each kid is supposed to have (based on their age) onto their brush and there is no fighting -- the baby doesn't even know his version is different!

This toothpaste is sweet.  In fact, my 6-year-old said that one flavor is too sweet.  Between the two flavors, however, there is a variety that each kid in my family loves, and they never complain when asked to "brush and flush" (which is my command for "brush your teeth and use the potty!")

Tanner's Tasty Paste has no saccharin or sodium lauryl sulfate.  Check them out on Facebook, Twitter, or buy directly from their site for $6.00 a tube!
