I made quite a few batches of pasta sauce from my garden this year. Canning it, however, just didn't happen. It's simply easier -- in some cases -- to reach into my pantry and pull out a good jar of flavorful sauce to put on my pasta!
Francesco Rinaldi is a name I was familiar with but hadn't tried. They sent me some sauces to review, and, I must admit, I was surprised by the freshness! I typically do not like cream sauces from a jar (they are too cheesy or fake tasting). The Four Cheese Alfredo, however, was a delicious topping for my cheese ravioli, and I added some seared crab meat and grilled shrimp for even more flavor!
Here is the Tomato, Garlic, and Onion Chunky Red Sauce over a quick refrigerator tortellini. It was thick and really stuck to the pasta well. We had a bunch in the bottom of the jar that would not come out -- it was that thick. You'll want to scrape what you can out with a spatula!
The sauces come in a variety of flavors, including:
- Tomato Basil
- Garden Combo
- Mushroom/Pepper
- Tomato, Garlic & Onion
- 3 Cheese
- Sweet Tomato
- 4 Cheese Alfredo
- Alfredo
- Roasted Garlic Alfredo
