Review of Del Monte Fruit Burst Squeezers

I have been eating a lot of fruit since I had my new baby. The thing is, I am not a fan of whole fruit.  I really do like applesauces and purees, so I tend to sneak the kids' pouches of squeezable fruit when I can.  Del Monte has come out with a new squeezeable fruit option that I was pretty pleased with.  They are called Fruit Burst Squeezers, and they are a mix of more than just fruit -- they also include veggies!


There are two flavors that we tried: peach-mango and mixed berry.  Both were very smooth and creamy, like a puree, and super intense with flavor.  I was expecting them to be more like a chunky "sauce" than a puree, so these definitely had more thickness and tartness than I was used to.  When I read the label, I could see that they also contained more overall fruit and veggies than other brands; it was a denser, more intense mixture of foods.

Made in the U.S.A., each pouch contains 1 ½ servings of fruit or fruit and veggies and is an excellent source of vitamins A and C. In addition, Del Monte® Fruit Burst®Squeezers contain no artificial flavors or high fructose corn syrup.  They are also shelf-stable until opening! (These are now available at Walmart and Walmart.com!)

We also received a new variety of Fruit Cup Snacks: one containing just Mango, and one with Mango and Pineapple mixed.  My boys are always asking me to buy them mangoes from the store, but - since we live in Nebraska - our results have been less than desireable.  These shelf-stable snacks are great for keeping on hand for when we want fresh-tasting options and can't find in-season items at our store.



Perfect portions for kids and Moms, this is my favorite afternoon snack right now. (I eat one with a piece of string cheese for a great nursing mom pick-me-up!)
