Review of The Christmas Registry

My kiddos are getting awfully excited for Christmas! It's not just the presents, but the whole experience that makes it special. When I was asked to try out the new Christmas Registry website, I was anxious to see if it helped to build up the holiday spirit.

Registration at the website (www.thechristmasregistry.com) was simple, and only took a few minutes -- it did not ask for any confidential info, just my name and email address. I was soon up and running with a personalized experience for each of my children - from Santa himself!

Once a child has been set up at The Christmas Registry, they can use the website to write Santa a letter, add merchandise to their wishlist, and even check their Naughty/Nice meter (my kids all started out at about a 5.) Parents can check their activity from their parent login, respond to letters, and buy gifts from Amazon.com that correspond with their wishlist requests.

All in all, this is a simple website that helps bridge the gap between "pretend" Santa traditions and actual experiences that children may enjoy with the use of their computer. (I also really like the Amazon interface for quick shopping, and the fact that additional family members can view the wish lists, as well.)

To see the Christmas Registry yourself, visit www.thechristmasregistry.com. It's a quick-loading site that provides a little bit of magic, just in time for the holidays!
