Review of Excite Books Service

I'm sure you're all familiar with the way companies like Netflix take the work out of renting movies -- they send them straight to your door! I recently got to try out a service that does the same thing for books, only you don't have to send them back when you're done!

Excite Books is a service like no other. Not only do they allow you to set up a subscription to receive age-appropriate books for the age range you choose, they send them to your door with the option to have you mail them on to charity! The system works like this:

Order a monthly subscription online for one, two, or three books to be shipped to your child. (Prices range from $4.99 to $14.99 for the books, and shipping and handling is ALWAYS $4.95 - no matter how many books you choose!)
  • After 12 total books have been shipped, a prepaid/preaddressed envelope is sent for the books of your choice (none, a few, or all) to be donated to a library in need!
So what did we think of the books? We were quite pleased with our first shipment, which included some nice titles for our kids and some extra goodies! It was fun for my boys to open their package and see that they received something exciting in the mail -- for a change.

Want to learn more? Excite Books is offering Lille Punkin' readers a special offer for trying their service today. By visiting www.excitebooks.com, you can choose your "Free Trial" offer to receive your first shipment of books (3 in all) for only the $4.95 shipping cost. But if you use our special promo code "4th Book Free" in the personalized message field, you can get an additional book at no cost! You will also receive free gifts in the first shipment (which includes a nifty airplane, some stickers, and other fun goodies.)

*If you want to personalize the shipment with a note to the child, you can still type it in the message field - the folks at Excite Books will be sure to remove your "4th book free" note before shipment.

Wanna win? One lucky reader will get an introductory package (free books and gifts) for the age range of their choosing! Just leave a comment here with the age you want to win for (see the Excitebooks website for your choices.) You have until next Monday, December 15th at 11pm CST to get your entries in. Giveaway is subject to complete site rules. (Be sure to give us a way to reach you if you win, and remember that we will never use your email or contact info for anything other than to send your prize.) Good luck!
