Did you change your car's wiper blades this past Groundhog's Day? If not, you may want to do it pronto (and use the annual holiday as a reminder that your car's blades need replacing.) Thanks to Rain-X, we had a chance to do just that, and I feel so much safer in my car!
My biggest pet peeve is the streaky, messy haze that a worn-out blade can leave you with.. so be sure to change your blades at the first sign of wear and tear. Whether you're battling grime, snow, rain, or that yucky muddy slush that comes at you from a passing truck, we're pretty sure you'll be impressed with the effective squeegee action of the Rain-X blade.
I also took my mission for a clear view of the road one step further, and used the Rain-X® Weatherbeater® 2-in-1 Glass Cleaner & Rain Repellant on all my windows and kept things in tip-top shape with Rain-X® X-treme Clean. Now I'm ready to hit the road in any weather!
You can win a Rain-X Car Care Kit just like I use! All you have to do is comment on this post with how often you change your wiper blades (be honest!) One lucky winner will get the Rain-X® Latitude™ Wiper Blades specific for your car, a bottle of Rain-X® Weatherbeater® 2-in-1 Glass Cleaner & Rain Repellant, and a bottle of new Rain-X® X-treme Clean. You have until Saturday, February 28th at 5pm CST to get your entries in. Giveaway is subject to complete site rules. (Be sure to give us a way to reach you if you win, and remember that we will never use your email or contact info for anything other than to send your prize.) Good luck!
*** Looking for additional car care and safety tips? Rain-X and Jody DeVere, the President of the Women’s Automotive Association International and CEO of the auto-advice site AskPatty.com suggests the following:
• Conduct a regular walk around checking your lights, antifreeze, windshield washer fluid and wiper blades regularly
• Ensure your tires are properly inflated and have sufficient tread
• As the temperature drops keep your gas tank at least half full; the extra gas reduces condensation that can plug your fuel line with ice and stall your engine in cooler weather
• Create an emergency pack; items like a blanket, first aid kit, snacks, bottled water, an ice scraper, flashlight and a bag of kitty litter
Deal-lovers, check out the special promotion at the Rain-X site: Buy 2 of the blades, get a free Visibility Package!

ReplyDeleteOUTLANDER 2008-2003 All Rain-X Wiper Blades 22 19
We live in Florida so the heat just drys are blades out and after seeing the blog I realized my wipers are in desperate need of changing so I would say since my husband buys cheap blades its been about a year since they were replaced. These would be perfect for when we make a trip of 1200 miles to visit family during the rainy season.
Thank you for the chance to be a winner.

I have never change them my husband does once in a while.

ReplyDeleteIf I don't win, it's down to the local car shop and hope there is someone to put them on.
I change my blades when using them starts to make the view worse than it was without using them. Maybe every few years.
ReplyDeleteWhenever my husband tells me they are getting bad!
ReplyDeleteI only recently got my first car (used) so I've never changed the wiper blades.
ReplyDeleteurchiken at gmail dot com

ReplyDeleteI honestly only change my wiper blades when they stop working and have smears on the windshield.
ReplyDeleteHow often do I change my wiper blades? If it doesn't have a warning light on the console, then it's as often as my husband gets around to it! ;)
ReplyDeletemcj4tlj@comcast.net
I change my wipers once or twice a year. I hate it when they streak!!
ReplyDeleteThanks! :)
rlgrady[at]yahoo[dot]com
My husband puts the Rain-X chemicals on every window of my car every time he washes it, and the rain just beads up and rolls right off -- I almost NEVER have to use my wipers.
ReplyDeleteAnd when I do, the windows are so smooth that the wipers pretty much never even squeak, even if the window is almost dry, so there's not much wear-and-tear going on there...
So they get changed ~maybe~ every two years or so...
I'm kinda embarassed but I don't change them until they absolutely need to be changed
ReplyDeleteI only change them if they don't work any more!
ReplyDeleteI use the Rain-X chemicals on the car windows every time I wash them, so the wiper blades barely get any workout at all, except in the absolutely heaviest "gully-washer" downpour... And when I wash the windows, I take a swipe at the wipers themselves -- if the rubber "comes off" in great black streaks on my towel, I figure "it's time" -- which is only every couple of years.
ReplyDeleteI get mine changed as often as Hubby is tired about my nagging, about once every 18 months.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway...I tend to replace our wiper blades when the old blades are completely worn out and the metal arms are loudly scraping across the windshield just as the heavens have opened up, with loud reports of thunder and flashes of lightning !!!
ReplyDeletesenorpiero [at] yahoo [dot] com
Honestly, I don't change my wiper blades. My husband is a mechanic so he deals with the vehicles! I'm not sure how often he changes them.
ReplyDeletebs.webster(at)sbcglobal(dot)net
Good blades last more than a year. Poor blades usally don't last that long.
ReplyDeleteI change them when they stop working, so it it about yearly or more!
ReplyDeleteHubby changed the wiper blades when they start to scrub or look cracked. Not often enough, I think.
ReplyDeleteOne time a year.
ReplyDeleterisanjax@Metrocast.net

ReplyDeleteahdrad2932(at)msn(dot)com
I change mine once a year
ReplyDeletei changed them every 6 monthes sometimes longer haha
ReplyDeletewhen they wear out
ReplyDeletealterna7 at hotmail dot com
Honestly? I just changed them all!
ReplyDeleteWe wait way too long to change our wipers. Pretty much when they are falling apart or not working at all. It's one of those things you forget about until you really need it.
ReplyDeleteI guess every six months, but not if they aren't working fine. Don't fix what ain't broke, they say.
ReplyDeleteIt has been 2 years since I last changed the wiper blades.
ReplyDeletedrellis500(at)gmail.com
They seem to need changed about every six months.
ReplyDeleteAlso works as a dry-erase board cleaner.
ReplyDeleteI don't change my wiper blades very often.
ReplyDeletems.lilyk@gmail.com
I change them about every three years. I should do it more often though.
ReplyDeleteannemarie562000(at)yahoo(dot)com
My husband just changed our wipers. I usually complain about them when I see that are getting old and eventually he'll change them. vidomich(at)yahoo(dot)com
ReplyDeletehubby replaces them but with him getting ready to deploy it would be nice to be able to change them before he goes so i dont have to
ReplyDeleteI'm as bad as everyone else. I only replace them when they aren't working anymore! My husband would think I'm so cool if I could say I won something he'd be interested in! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteTruth. I change them when I can barely see through. I just changed them but the rain-x ones were out of my price range.
ReplyDeleteNycole
knycks1@aol.com

ReplyDeleteThe heartbreak is I only change them when they officially break! Isn't that sad?
