Earth month isn't the only time to think about buying earth-friendly. It is, however, a perfect time to share what we love (and how you can score some awesome green products for your home and family!) See what the Walmart 11 Moms were able to learn about in celebration of Earth Month -- and see how you can win all of the fabulous products featured below!
Brita Water Pitcher - I had one of these when I first got married. At the time, it was "the" perfect wedding gift, and my husband and I drank much more water when we could conveniently filter tap water and pour it from the durable pitcher. The newest Brita Pitcher is just as easy to use, a bit more modern in design, and every bit as practical as the original. The built-in digital indicator lets me know at a glance if it's time to change the filter, and even my daughter can refill it (making it impossible for anyone to get by with using the last of the water and putting an empty pitcher back in the fridge.) The retail value of the Brita Pitcher starts around $29.99.Bissell Little Green Floor Cleaner - This is another product that we were not unfamiliar with. The original version of the cleaner wasn't nearly as eco-friendly, but it was still really great way to clean carpets and upholstery. What I love about this newer model is that it comes with considerably less packaging. It also features PVC-free tanks and hoses! With just a few minutes and some of the Bissell branded cleaner, you can easily remove stains and grime from your couch or those icky floor mats in the minivan. The retail value of the Bissell Little Green Floor Cleaner is $74.88
White Cloud "Green Earth" Paper Towels - I've used White Cloud products on a number of occasions, but have been shying away from using any kind of paper towel lately. I have been thinking about the impact that they have on the environment (and how much they cost.) The "green" variety of White Cloud Paper Towels, however, has me learning to love paper towels again. Made from 100% recycled fibers, they are just as strong and thick as the regular variety, but they have the earth in mind. I can feel better during those times when "pass the cloth napkin" just doesn't cut it -- like spaghetti dinners! (They also make Green Earth toilet paper!)
Clorox Green Works Cleaners - We've already shared our opinion of the GreenWorks wipes (yippee!), but did you know that there was an entire line of the stuff? Yepper... we love the sprays, too!
Tide Coldwater - Already love Tide? Thinking of using less hot water in your loads (to save energy and money?) You can get the same great clean you've loved from Tide, with less impact on the environment! We've used Tide Coldwater to get grimy stuff really clean, and my washing machine can sit on the "cold" cycle all day long!
Now you can try all the great products we mentioned above -- for FREE! We are giving one Lille Punkin' reader a prize pack featuring products from Bissell, Tide, Clorox Green Works, White Cloud, and Brita. Just comment here on your favorite product from the prize pack and how you and your family are trying to go "green." We'll pick one winner at random to get the goods!
You have until the end of this month (April 30, 2009) to get your entries in. Giveaway is subject to complete site rules. (Be sure to give us a way to reach you if you win, and remember that we will never use your email or contact info for anything other than to send your prize.) Good luck!

my favorite item is the Brita water pitcher. My family carries Brita water bottles to fill with water. I carry it with me to work. On sports or park days, I fill everyone's water bottles and have them ready to go before the day off. We recycle too.
ReplyDeletesuper_alba_star@yahoo.com
I think the Bissell Little Green Floor Cleaner is fantastic! I really need to clean my carpet and it would be so easy to use.

our light bulbs to energy efficient,
we ride the bus and use natural cleaning products. Thank you so much for the wonderful giveaway!
I Love everyone of these products, but I think my favorite is the Bissell Little Green Floor Cleaner. It is just a little Green Power House! It can get those pesky stains out of furniture as well as rugs and even car mats and seats! With this no stain has POWER over me again!!

ReplyDeleteRecycling everything, using cloth bags and buying secondhand items
luckydolls123[at]verizon[dot]net
The water pitcher is my favorite item from the prize pack. My family recycles and we will continue to do so!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to have the brita filter and we are trying to start composting!
ReplyDeleteI think my favorite ( although I like them all) is the Brita Pitcher since I just dropped and broke mine last week.
ReplyDeleteWe have changed all our bulbs to the ENERGY STAR CFL bulbs, only use cold water to wash clothes and have been hanging as much as possible outside rather than using the dryer.
THE BRITTA WATERPITCHER IS SOMETHING I HAVE BEEN WANTING TO BUY. IF EVERYONE WOULD HAVE ONE THAN WE COULD REDUCE THE BOTTLES IN OUR LANDFILLS QUICKLY.
ReplyDeleteWE ARE GETTING THERE IT IS SLOW GOING THEDOGWHISPER@YAHOO.COM
I like the Brita Water Filter because we have nasty tap water, and our water filter broke...so we keep buying spring water... its getting a bit old not to mention wasteful.
ReplyDeleteBut in that regard at least we recycle and do composting and some outdoor solar lights (we love the outdoor solar lights!) but I'd really like to cut down on the needless bottles of water with the brita water filter!

Love the Brita pitcher. We currently have one of these and it's always empty we use it so much, so another one would be handy. :)
ReplyDeleteI'd really love the Bissell Little Green Floor Cleaner.
ReplyDeleteSome of the things we're doing --
recycling, composting, using our own bags for the grocery store, we've switched out our lightbulbs to CFLs, walk or bike to school and work.
Thanks for the fantastic giveaway~
my favorite thing from the giveaway items would have to be the Bissell Little Green Floor Cleaner because I need something better than an old mop for cleaning my kitchen floor! My family has always tried to recycle things and use less energy so going green is not new to us, but I learn more ways to go green every day.
ReplyDeleteThe Bissell Little Green Floor Cleaner would probably my favorite of the bunch.
ReplyDeleteFirst, my family avoids purchasing items that we don't need (we don't have several cars, TVs, etc). We also purchase certain items second hand, like clothing, books, and dishes. We also use energystar appliances as well as energy-saving lightbulbs. We reuse different items like plastic bags and bottles.
elkaye[at]gmail[dot]com
I love the Brita pitcher. I currently use another brand but really want to try Brita.
ReplyDeletePurrlatina@yahoo.com
We already use a Brita Pitcher and I would love to have a new one. We recycle as much as we can. We have already changed out the light bulbs in the house.
ReplyDeletei love the brita pitcher- I love them so much when I have a family member go to the hospital I bring in ours and let them have it so they have fresh water then they take it home and use it.. they are so amazing
ReplyDeletewe reduce, reuse and repurpose and watch one another and remind eachother
we plant trees and use less packing
The Tide Cold Water detergent is my favorite product from the ones listed. I like how I can save money by using less hot water in the house - especially reducing the amount of hot water used in washing laundry. I like how it smells fresh and cleans my clothes just as good while saving me money.
ReplyDeleteMine is the tide. I havn't tried the others.
ReplyDeleteI'm interested in trying out the White Cloud "Green Earth" Paper Towels. All the products look awesome. This year to go more green, we are planning on planting more trees and our first family garden.
ReplyDeletefirstrosegrrl@yahoo.com
I am most interested in the bissel little green cleaner, my baby spits up a lot and its always hitting the floor!
ReplyDeletejennifer.lleras@gmail.com
Hi!
ReplyDeleteI love the Bissell Little Green Steam Cleaner ~ it is so cute! My family and I are going green by recycling, using cloth bags at the store rather than plastic, and composting in the garden. Please enter me into your nice contest ~ thanks! Bebe :)

The Brita Water Pitcher would allow us to go 'greener' by reducing the amount of bottled water my family uses.
ReplyDeleteabfantom (at) yahoo (dot) com
We love the Clorox GreenWorks products, and I'd love to try the Bissell Little Green Floor Cleaner. Our family is trying to go green by: recycling, using cloth grocery bags, using natural cleaners, and using stainless steel containers to take water to work/gym, rather than buying any bottled water.
ReplyDeletekristenkrasten[at]yahoo[dot]com

Since my on tap water filter is no longer working (not because the cartridge needs replaced, as it is new), the water pitcher would be great. I also love the little green machine and would be so happy if I won one. I've wanted one for so long. Enough said, all the prizes in this are great, and anyone would be nuts not to try for a chance to win this fabulous giveaway. Count me in.
ReplyDeletelfhpueblo (at) msn (dot) com
I subscribe.
We've used a Brita for years, they're great. We're really trying to cut out throw away items like plastic grocery bags and non-recyclable things.
ReplyDeleteBrita water pitcher. We have made a concerted effort to cut back on electricity use.
ReplyDeleteLinz said : The Bissell Little Green Floor Cleaner is my favorite on the list and something I would love to win.
ReplyDeleteMy "green" bit is to reduce the amoount of paper we use in the house. For example - I no longer use paper napkins when we sit at the table for a meal ... I have replaced them with cloth napkins and I think cloth looks so much nicer than paper ones.
sardisoaks(at)live(dot)com
The little green floor cleaner sure is nice. I wouldn't mind having it. As far a trying to help out Mother Earth, who by the way has given about all that she can and now she needs us to give to her. We use cfl bulbs, recycle everything we can, make one trip do instead of two, use reusable bags for shopping, catch rainwater for the plants, and this year I am growing a garden and trying to compost.
ReplyDeleteThe Tide Coldwater. I have been washing my clothes in cold water (exclusively) long before it ever became fashionable. It saves tons of money, and my clothes (both lights and darks)come out perfectly clean.
ReplyDeleteAlicia Webster

This spring, I will be hanging out my clothes instead of using the dryer. We also have started recycling which really isn't difficult at all. We walk to school instead of drive too.

ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to try Tide Coldwater, but I only buy the cheaper brands.
ReplyDeleteI love the Bissell Little Green Floor Cleaner. I have it on my 'wishlist'.
ReplyDeleteWe recently started recycling. We don't buy bottled water anymore. We replaced all the light bulbs in our house with energy efficient ones. We were grocery shopping about every 3 days and now we are going once every 2 weeks.
Thanks for the awesome giveaway!

ReplyDeleteThis is such a wonderful giveaway. All these prizes are great.
Thanks for offering this giveaway.
My favorite is the Brita pitcher. We use ours so frequently, another one would be a great addition to our home.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway...We are dedicated Brita users, they are a great product: I have one in the fridge that I've owned for 12 years and my wife is bugging me to replace it since the plastic is all scraped & gouged from wear & tear and it looks pretty shabby. We try to live as "green" as possible (i.e. we send in our used Brita filters to be recycled; we downsized our vehicles, traded in our big cars for two Prius Hybrid's, etc.).
ReplyDeletesenorpiero [at] yahoo [dot] com

ReplyDeleteMy family is ging green by starting a Veggie garden as soon as the threat of frost passes!

Absolutely the Brita Water Pitcher because we live in the rural midwest and are cautious about the quality of our drinking water.
And my family and I are going green by recycling like crazy AND reducing the amount of waste we bring INTO our home in the first place. No impulse purchases for us!
I Love everyone of these products, but I think my favorite is the Bissell Little Green Floor Cleaner, we have 4 rescue cats and my daughter is an art major so the carpets are never clean. We are also trying to use less plastic wateer bottles so the Britta would be great

ReplyDeletelove the britta water pitcher.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite item is the Brita pitcher - we recently gave up bottled water when we realized how long those bottles would sit in a landfill, and we did get one Brita pitcher, but it's not enough for our family. We're going green in all the usual ways, plus this year we're growing our own herbs and veggies, we're composting and we might be setting up a rainbarrel system. asthenight at gmail dot com

ReplyDeleteMy favorite product would be the Tide and we are trying to use more earth friendly products
ReplyDeleteI could really use the Brita Water Pitcher
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is Tide Coldwater and it happened more by necessity than as an active choice, my apartment building has very inconsistent hot water, and you never know when it will be cold all day, I learned to switch to a 'cold water' detergent because of it. At least I was assured that I would get the level of clean I had already come to know and expect by using the Tide Brand for so many years. My second favorite would be the Brita. I have the Brita pitcher that you can pour without having to pull it out often, but it's harder to tell when it's time to change the filter because you don't have to pull it out, I love that this one you are offering has the indicator!
ReplyDeleteThe Bissell Little Green Floor Cleaner is my favorite because I have kids who are experts at making a mess of the carpet and furniture. We are trying to make the house greener because we have kids, worry about chemical exposure and the future of the planet for them.

We're doing great with plastic, aluminum, and glass, and we're working on paper. My favorite from the prize pack that I've actually used is the Brita filter. I love fresh water that has no weird flavors or smells. I use a stainless steel water bottle instead of buying water in plastic bottles and a brita picture makes a wonderful choice to get fresh water.
ReplyDeleteThe Bissel little green floor steamer looks great. My son has made several spills on our floor that need some serious cleaning. Our family is going green around the house by using less electricity, conserving water and recycling more than ever. Thanks so much for the chance, justicecw@hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteI am really impressed with the Bissell Green Machine Floor Cleaner

I love the Bissell Little Green Floor Cleaner and I could really use it with my cats! My family is going green by recycling, walking instead of driving and carrying our own tote bags instead of receiving plastic bags when shopping! Thanks for the opportunity!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite item is the Brita water pitcher.
ReplyDeleteI like the Little Green Floor Cleaner - we have an earlier version of it, and it's great for small pet stains or mud stains. My family and I are recycling all that we can.
ReplyDeletealicia75136@yahoo.com
They're all great, but my favorite is the Bissell Little Green Floor Cleaner; I'd really love to try this! We're trying to be more green by recycling, composting, using cleaners without dangerous chemicals, turning off lights, conserving water, consolidating our trips to the stores and hopefully we're going to start growing our own veggies again. Thank you for a great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI would love to give the Bissell Little Green Floor Cleaner a try and then some! With two children and two dogs, carpets and upholstered furniture can get quite dirty.
ReplyDeleteOur family made a commitment earlier this year to become more earth conscious! We turned the thermostat down this past winter, take 5 minute showers and each have our own reusable water bottle. Please enter me in your fabulous prize giveaway drawing. Many thanks..... Cindi

My favorite product is the Brita water pitcher. I currently have a Brita dispenser in my refigerator. This helps us "go green" because I rarely buy bottled water.
ReplyDeleteBoth my parents and my sister have the Bissel Little Green Machine and they love it. I would love to have one too!
ReplyDeleteWe are trying to go green by recycling more and switching over to environmentally friendly cleaning products.

We already use the Brita water pitcher and have for years, but we could use another one for the other fridge!

Bissell Little Green Floor Cleaner is actually on my list of future purchases so it would be great to win. We try to do everything we can from recycling to CFL bulbs to reducing waste.
ReplyDeleteLove the Bissell Little Green Floor Cleaner! The fact that they've done away with using PVC in its design is a real plus. This would certainly come in handy at our house!
ReplyDeleteGreat prizes! We try to be green by using reusable bags, cfl bulbs, and I'm starting cloth diapering.
ReplyDeleteBissell Little Green Floor Cleaner would be my favorite. I recycle and compost, use cold water to wash clothes, use tote bags for all my shopping and changed our light bulbs to energy saving

The Bissell Little Green Floor Cleaner is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteWe have a German Shepherd who has a habit of knocking things over with her large tail.
We are recycling as much as possible.
We stopped using individually packaged water bottles, we have all CFL in our home.
we stopped using our truck and take the economical car whenever possible. We wash in cold water only and hang clothes outside to dry whenever possible then just toss in the dryer a few minutes to fluff.
We make our own natural laundry detergent by the 5 gallon buckets and divide into old used store bought bottles.
We use a little vinegar in the laundry instead of fabric softener.
I take my lunches to work now in a lunch box instead of fast food.

ReplyDeleteI think my favorite is the bissell product & I actually use a lot of these already. I don't alway use tide cold care, but I do wash everything except sheets/towels in cold water. I also hand dry about 70% of my laundry. I have been using canvas bags for shopping, recycling as much as possible. We try to limit water use, use reusable items like cloth over disposable. We do quite a bit and always looking for other ways of going green.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to try the Bissell Little Green Floor Cleaner! My husband and I are recycling, trying to walk more instead of driving, we switched out the majority of our lightbulbs and we're planting an herb garden!
ReplyDeletesamanthasadler at gmail.com

ReplyDeletekatie1644@aol.com
The little Green Floor cleaner would be a huge help in our house. With kids & dogs there is always something to scrub or clean in the kitchen or on the couch or in the car.
ReplyDeleteMy biggest challenge in going green is getting my husband to recycle more & the kids to keep the lights & tv turned off when not in use. I'm also trying to cut down on our use of paper towels & use regular kitchen towels or rags instead.
the Tide coldwater would be my pick. i already use warm water - not hot- for the laundry and use a Dryline in the late spring till early fall. we recycle and grow our own veggies.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite item is the Brita Water Pitcher. I had one of the old style Brita pitchers too, but always forgot to change the filter. This new "hi-tech" style looks great! I love Tide Coldwater. And as for being green, I am using cfl bulbs and of course recycle religiously. Small, but I do what I can!

I like the greenworks cleaner a lot. I very recently tried a bottle of greenworks stuff from clorox and was pleasantly surprised that it works just as well as the other stuff that isn't as good for the environment. In my household, I have been switching light bulbs to CFL whenever they burn out, and I recycle everything that I can.
ReplyDeleteI would love to try that Bissell little green floor cleaner for all my kid and dog spots. The kids and I are just starting to try to use more green products and thinking about starting recycling.

The Bissell Little Green Floor Cleaner is my favorite product. Although I have never tried it, I like the capabilities of this machine. I could get all my upholstery squeky clean. We have been green for years with our recycling, and composting, and we are now accumulating enough reusable shopping bags to accomodate a big shop. Thanks for a great giveaway!`
ReplyDeleteI love love love Tide Coldwater!!
ReplyDeleteWe wash all laundry in cold water, but our towels & bedding-which I do only 3 loads twice a month.
Everyone tries to stretch out the length of time we use our towels & clothing, so we our doing less laundry.
I also have started to line dry all the items I do wash in hot water to try & use less energy.
It takes a bit more work & effort, but is sooo worth it!
Thanks!
I really like the Bissell cleaner, the more I see the ad on tv, the mroe I want to go out and buy it! We're expecting our first next month, and I can already tell I'll be cleaning the carpets, stairs, carseats, anything she can get her hands on!
ReplyDeleteSo far to be green, our family uses no dye/perfume detergent and always wash with cold water, we use our Brita pitcher to bring our own water wherever we go, and try to use non-disposable items as much as possible! Saves the environment AND saves money.
The Little Green machine is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteWe don't buy bottled water anymore! We instead use a water filter on our tap and then fill washable water bottles when we are out. Also I love the Green Works line products. They are great you all should try them!
