  3. I get my prescriptions filled at a grocery store pharmacy that takes competitor prescription coupons.... so everytime I fill one of my prescriptions, I get free groceries! I usually rack up $40 - $100 a month in gift cards for the grocery store!

  6. My best savings tip is to clip coupons as much as possible. Keep them organized in a container with dividers labeled for different types of products. For example, snacks, cereals, pastas, frozen, dairy, etc. Make sure to bring your coupons with you when you shop.

  7. My tip is to shop at BJs a few times a year and stock up on staples. They accept coupons too! Just make extra room to store stuff and don't forget what you put in storage.

  28. Unplug your small appliances when you aren't using them, and turn off your hot water heater at night. The water heater takes only 20-30 minutes to reheat the water. The energy its not spending keeping the water hot through the night makes a "reheating session" ultimately more cost effective than having it run all night, especially during the winter or for an uninsulated heater. (Try turning off the breaker to the heater, or looking for a switch on the heater itself.) These small changes will save you $20/month on your electricity bill, easy! :)

  29. I've started making a list when I go shopping, and pulling out coupons to use based on what I'm buying. I leave all my other coupons at home - this has stopped me from impulse buying even when "it's such a good deal" and saved us money! :)

  30. When you see something (other than groceries and such) that you want, check online and other stores to make sure you'll be getting the best price. This will help you save money and the time will make you think about whether you really want that thing or not.

  98. I don't understand how every household does NOT do this, but...you simply cannot go grocery shopping without coupons. And, you have to check sale ads. Unless your "regular" store is notoriously among the best, as far as regular prices/sales go, then you have to pick and choose each week. Unless, of course, you like paying retail. Which I don't.
