Help Protect Your Family from Flu with SoftSoap and Clean Hands!

Even with the outbreaks of cold and flus at our home, we've had some problems getting our middle son to wash his hands.  His theory was that, if his hands didn't smell, they didn't need to be washed.  Gross.

Luckily, we were presented with an opportunity to teach this 4-yr-old (and his siblings) that washing hands wasn't just necessary -- it could be fun!  We put a Softsoap Spongebob Liquid Hand Soap Foam Works pump at the kids' bathroom sink and topped it off with a really cool singing timer that goes on the pump handle of any standard-size soap pump.  When the child pushed on it to dispense the soap, a song plays for 20-seconds, signaling the time the a little hand-washer should be "scrubbing up."  (And it lights up!)

My resistant child is  now washing his hands after each meal, use of the potty, and whenever else he wants to hear the song -- which is a big change over his stubborn ways from before.

Softsoap brand has teamed up with the American Public Health Association (APHA) to create these unique “Get Ready” hand washing timers that easily attach directly to Softsoap brand soap pumps.  You can learn more about Softsoap's efforts to help families combat germs (and the flu) -- as well as tips for staying healthy -- at their website.

Wanna win?  We're giving away two prize packs, each containing a Spongebob hand soap and an APHA timer.  To be entered to win, just comment on this post with how you get your little ones to wash up!  We'll give you until February 14th at 11:59 pm CST to get your entries in.
