DaGeDar for High Speed Fun! (Giveaway)

My boys like stuff that goes fast.  They also love "collecting" things.  The newest toys from Cepia (the folks who make Zhu Zhu's) have invented the DaGeDar toy -- high-speed ball-bearings that you can collect and race.  We gave these little marble-like gadgets a try this week.. the boys really dug them!

Here is my son with his two favorite designs from the DaGeDar balls we received.  (There are literally dozens to collect, so they are already planning on which ones to buy next.)

They use these balls on the race track course that is kind of like a plastic toy car track, only the balls roll (like a marble course.)  Our particular track (shown here) allowed the kids to compete for the highest number of points received as the balls drop into numbered slots at the end of the course.  So far, our record is 270.  (But I'm sure the boys will have me beat soon!)

You can get an idea of how these work from the below video.  (We tried making one, but it is sheer chaos when the DaGeDar balls come out.)

You also want to be careful around smaller kids.  (These balls seem to want to end up near the baby, where he wants to put them in his mouth!)

In addition to several courses you can buy, there are launchers and different ways to put the balls into motion.  We also really liked the carrying case that kids can clip onto their belts or backpacks. (They hold three balls... those are three balls we won't be looking for under the couch!)

You can get more information on all the DaGeDar offerings at their website!
