Walmart invited me to attend this year’s Shareholders meeting - my first since becoming a Walmart Blogger mom years ago. Here's the best of the things I experienced on this amazing trip!
First, I loved reconnecting with some of my favorite moms. I was blessed to spend time with Melissa (Consumer Queen), Christine (From Dates to Diapers), Jennae (Green Your Decor), Renee (Cutie Booty Cakes), Lori (A Cowboy's Wife), Heather (The Domestic Diva), Liz (Hoosier Homemade), Monica (Mommy Brain Reports), Erika (Chic Shopper Chick), and the folks at Walmart, as well as their digital media agency.
We sat through some informative meetings (that I can't discuss here), but really enjoyed time out and about. My favorite destination was a long-awaited trip to Crystal Bridges Museum and surrounding gardens. We all had fun posing in front of the big "LOVE" sign and goofing off a bit after a weekend of lots of walking and learning.
And then there was the actual Shareholder's meeting. This was my first year -- and WOW! Let's allow the pictures to share a bit about the experience.
Yes.. this is Justin Timberlake... the host of the event!
We enjoyed surprise performances by Taylor Swift....
Lionel Richie...
as well as Celine Dion, The Zac Brown Band, and other performers. In between the glam and glitz, there were presentations for the various brands within Walmart (including Sam's Club.) The entire auditorium was filled with employees from around the world; it resembled a mini-Olympics!
I also attended a Walmart "Steak-over" event -- like the one you may have seen on TV in Walmart steak commercials. I'll have more on that later, but let's just say my very finicky steak standards were won over by the new Walmart steaks. I was happy to enjoy so many yummy other foods at the cook-out, as well.
Even with horrible flight delays and a chilly weather spell that forced me to keep my coat on for much of the week, I was very pleased with my first Shareholder's experience. I hope it's just the first of many more, and I hope that you've enjoyed the past years of me sharing my experience as a Walmart Blogger Mom!
*I am a participant in the Walmart Moms program. Walmart has provided me with compensation for my time on this post, as well as provided the transportation, accommodations, and opportunities for the Shareholder's meeting event. Participation in this program is voluntary. As always, all opinions are 100% my own.
