Review of Farmland Oven Perfect Fresh Pork

I have been eating Farmland Pork since I was very young.  I love their sausages, and we still cook their bacon every Sunday morning to go with our pancakes!
When I learned about their new Oven Perfect Fresh Pork products, I was so intrigued.  Pork that goes straight from the fridge or freezer to the oven (while still in the packaging)?  Could it really be this easy?

We used a thawed Oven Perfect Southwest Style Peppercorn Fresh Tenderloin from the fridge and removed the outside labels.  According the directions, we were to place the pork (in the bag) on a foil-lined pan and place in the oven at 450 degrees for 30 minutes.

After 30 minutes, I removed the pork, and I let it stand for the 5 minutes recommended on the package.  Keep in mind, that during the whole time, I didn't need to check on the meat, open the packaging, or turn anything.

I then open the package and cut open the pork!  It was perfectly cooked.  (I used a meat thermometer to confirm; I'm a bit paranoid that way.)

Here is our completed meal: acorn squash with butter and brown sugar, fresh garden veggies, and, of course, our Southwest Style Peppercorn Tenderloin.

We all enjoyed the pork, even my picky 5-year-old.  The meat was really tender, so that even my 2-year-old could eat the cut-up pieces.  The flavor on this variety was spicy, but not overpowering; no extra spices or salt was needed.

Were there any cons to this product that saves time, clean-up, and trouble?  The only thing I wished for was an option for gravy.  Traditional tenderloins are cooked in a frying pan at my house, giving me lots of pan drippings for a nice gravy base.  I suppose I could drain off the small amount of juice that comes out of this product, and make a separate gravy, but since it is a convenience product, it would kind of defeat the purpose of being "easy."  I'll have to think on the gravy issue a bit more.

The packaging for the pork is BPA-free and got the OK from the FDA.  If you need a quick and delicious option for a Sunday dinner, or when you find out at the last minute that you are having dinner guests, I highly recommend this product line;  It also comes in Chipotle BBQ Fresh Pork Chop, Parmesan Garlic Herb Fresh Pork Loin Filet, Portebello Pepper Fresh Filet of Pork, BBQ Mesquite Fresh Pork Baby Back Ribs, Onion Garlic Fresh Pork Loin Roast, and 12 other varieties!
