Review of Jenkins Jellies Hell Fire Pepper Jelly

I'm not really a spicy food person.  My husband, on the other hand, LOVES heat.  He also adores homemade jellies and jams.  While I'm likely to stick to making sweet faves like my Cherry Lime Jam, he experiments with spicy and savory jellies that I'm too scared to try.

Jenkins Jellies has a unique line of hot pepper jellies that are just perfect for the hubs.  We sampled an assortment of them this past month, and while I did take a tiny taste of them, they were really too spicy for my weak taste buds.  He loved the stuff, however.

We tried the original Hell Fire Pepper Jelly first.  It was flippin' hot!  It was also sweet, however, so I could see it as a base for a more complex recipe or spread on crackers with a cooling component (like cream cheese.)  The jelly is made with 7 hot and sweet peppers, so there is definitely a lot going on with this jelly; it also tastes very fresh!

There are three other varieties for those who like to mix it up: Passion Fire, Guava Brava, and Fiery Figs.  As you've guessed they are all hot, and they feature a different fruit!

Jenkins Jellies all come in adorable glass jars with colorful labels and have a tiny tasting spoon attached!  They make the best gifts and they are gluten free, as well as vegan.  This jelly is truly different!  See more info at the official website, Facebook, and Twitter!  (*A percentage of jenkins jellies’ profits go to the Bruce Paltrow Oral Cancer Fund and Green Wish.)
