Toyland Tuesday is Here!

If your kids haven't started asking for toys for Christmas yet, you're lucky.  Mine have already started their lists, which -- I admit -- puts a bit of pressure on me.  As a parent, you certainly don't want to disappoint, and yet you have to be realistic about the budget.

Walmart has started their Toyland Tuesday promotion, a fun way to see the sales that Walmart is having on top toys from now until Christmas.  For now, you can see the sale items on their Toyland Tuesday Facebook tab; after Black Friday, you'll also be able to vote on what toys you want to see go on sale!

As if this info isn't fun enough, there are also a few more toy updates to share with you:

  • New Barbies are coming Walmart!  Starting December 1st, you'll be able to purchase several new-for-the-season Barbie toys, clothes, and playsets.  They will include Barbie Sister sets, Barbie Mermaid, and more.
  • Walmart has identified 16 top toys that kids will want this year.  They include: Barbie Cruise Ship, Monster High High School, Novi Stars Dolls, Lalaloopsy Harmony B. Sharp Interactive Doll, Baby Alive Baby Wanna Walk, Furby, Beyblade Destroyer Dome, Neft Elite Hailfire, and the Hotwheel Terrain Twister.  You, of course, can see all the toys that will be hot this year on the Walmart.com site, and our own kids got a chance to preview the toy catalogs before they were made available to the public this year.  (My boys literally wore through the pages with all the time they spent flipping through them.  They luckily each got a catalog to have, or there would have been fist-fights.)  While my boys aren't really into the Monster High or Barbie trends, they are excited about the "coolness factor" of some of the other toys: the Nerf Elite Hailfire shoots 75 feet!
  • The catalog, now available, also allows kids to fill out their own wishlist.  My kids were asking me how to spell just about every toy in the catalog so that they could fill in their list!

So far, I've managed to keep the kids under control with their "requests."  I wonder if they know that there are 5 of them, and there is only so much room under the tree?

Do your kids have a "must-get" item that they want to get this holiday?  Have you already started to look at the seasonal toy catalogs?  What "hot" items are you thinking about buying them?
