Our "First Flush" Party Celebrated The Spirit of Being a "Big Boy"

Here is my son.  He will be 3 in June.  He is not potty trained.

Despite our trying, has not had his 'first flush.' We still have him sit on the potty, we use the Pull-Ups, and we give him praise for trying.  Seeing him stay dry, however, is probably a long way off, and we are OK with that.  He is still a "big boy" and part of a team!

We recently held our own 'First Flush' party to help share how much we love Pull-ups and how easy it is to get started with the process (even if you don't get all the way to the finish line soon.)  Because so many in our community had the flu (everyone it seems), we had to schedule, reschedule, and reschedule.  We ended up meeting up with the parents of toddler friends as we could (in our case, it even meant meeting with them to share goodie bags and treats at their place of business!)

Here is what was all included in the goodie bags.  We were happy to share reward charts, stickers, party hats, whistles, and more with our parent friends.

My son enjoyed trying out the new Cars movie print Pull-Ups with the Learning Designs.  (The Learning Designs tell him he's wet by disappearing when he goes.  They are great for parents, as you can tell by looking if they are wet -- instead of pinching their diaper.  My son, however, tells me he has gone almost immediately, so we really haven't had to use the designs unless he's really engaged in an activity.)

We were also able to combine the fun and excitement of our "first flush" party with my son's 6th birthday, giving us a chance to celebrate how big my son has gotten.  He got to bowl for the first time!

Did you end up having your own "First Flush" party?  How did it go?  Were you able to celebrate the official victory of potty training?  Or are you like us, patiently waiting, but celebrating the "try"?
